what should the new Kryton be??

Yeah, :-[ I am more about 100 % duty cycle labby lasers anyway. 8-) I am so amazed at how over spec this thing is, I mean its rated at 380 ma's but it runs just fine at 420 and even up to 600. I would REALLY like a 200 mw 635 nm c-mount.

That module goes to 600mA !?! mines is only running at 417mA at 6.14V ! What voltage were you running it at to get 600mA?

Also it doesn't only need the heatsink to keep it cool, it needs it because the heatsink holds the lens that collimates the beam.
 
I was leaning towards labby for a while. But I can always use a cpu heatsink with the aixiz module thermal glued on the surface. This gives me an unlimited duty cycle even with an open can.

A portable 1-2 watt 808 is just too tempting. :D
 
I think AAA side button too
you can use the dx 75mW red heatsink for a labby, as it fits aixiz modules
 
I thank i want 2 of each one of these ideas ohhh and i really like this idea from MidKnight [highlight] C-Mount!
I know a guy that makes custom cut KTP/YVO4 crystals.
You could design the head to fit what ever cut he dose.
You would also need a head that doesn't have a crystal mount. (For use with 650nm & 635nm C-Mounts)[/highlight] that would be too cool

No not without a TEC.  but then again NOTHING would be sufficient for that diode without a TEC

Also a AAA sized would not be sufficient to cool the c-mount diode you'd have a duty cycle of maybe 30 seconds.
