Voting Thread: I "C" Red Battle Royale

I just want to say that whoever does win, you will have my full support, which probably isn't
worth much and you probably don't want it anyway, but I don't want to become some bitter
crybaby asshole who rage quits and leaves just because they lost a stupid contest. And I
know you're saying, "Well I don't need that kind of help," which is fine, but it doesn't really
matter. Life goes on.

Best of Luck to you all, some really amazing and impressive designs!

Thanx Speedy and Xeno...and thanx to all the other entrants for your passion and original designs. I predict a close race !!!

As an additional note...I would like to include two (2) add-ons to the
JDR-1 / LAWGIVER II ;

1) An stand-alone / independent Green aiming DPSS laser pointer attached to the side of the 1/2" optical plate. This add-on could /would be used to FIRST determine where main beam is aimed. A 100mW green pointer would be perfect. This concept is not a new one....but surly has value from a safety aspect !!! If there is a question as to where the main beam will land...just press the pointer momentary I/O button switch to verify the beam path / termination.

2) If the heat from the dual C-Mounts provides TOO much...a 40mm square Peltier TE Cooler plate could easily be added to further manage the thermal load....and keep those diodes within safe operating range. The TE Plate could be sandwitched between the upper 1/2" optical plate and the bottom of the Copper Radiator surface as the typical TE is about 2mm in thickness.

Add-on #1 WILL be done and Add-on #2 may be included as determined by trials. Many times...a build unfolds as it occurs...and hopefully there is enough flexibillity in the initial design to allow for these developments.

See the attached pic for the Add-on details

Vote for the JDR-1 / LAWGIVER II....and THANX !!

CDBEAM... how do you intend to get both C-mounts? You know if you win you only get one, right? Will you pay for the other out of pocket?

It probably would look nicer as a poll cantthinkofone :o I just figured referring to posts would offer the most transparency. Anybody can go through the thread to verify the votes. Forum polls are limited to 10 too I think. Just in case there are more late entries, I wanted that freedom. I have a running tally that I will post once the voting is closed.

Well….I already have one C-Mount from DTR…This was required because I needed to determine the EXACT emission output location. See the attached detail pic of the Copper mount. Note the two different vertical elevations of the mount shelf. This is because I want maximum contact of the Copper mount to two faces of the C-Mount, the back and one side….and both C-Mount outputs must be in the exact same vertical plane.

When combining two (2) diodes via a Polarized Beam Cube….the polarization of Beam A must be at 90 degree relation to Beam B. This means that one C-Mount MUST be turned 90 degree relative to the other C-Mount.

Because each C-Mount is in a different orientation….there are two shelf elevations to accomplish maximum contact between mount and diode.
Sorry for the rather long explanation to a simple question…but…you asked. I truly believe that combining diodes will push the envelope of performance for the HH format. It is not an easy approach…but…it is very doable.

Put a vote in for the LAWGIVER II….THANX
