I wish they'd sell just the cheap dichro mounts. Sure I could get some $20 ones from Lasever or something, but it'd be nice if they were like $10 cheapo ones.

Fiddy thanks for revealing the guts to this thing for us!
A few hours ago I was looking at laserland's versions of these little boxes, it apears that they are doing a lot of juggling diode types around, I seen one even where they are using two diodes for red! .....
1W RGB White Laser Module Beam Combined 532nm Green Blue 445nm Red 650nm 638nm | eBay
This takes a special dichro to do this, WTF, how do they fit all that in there?

and as far as I know right now, 473 is only gotten thru DPSS, look:
500mW RGB White Laser Module Beam Combined 532nm Green Blue 473nm Red 638nm | eBay
They have two DPSS rigs (green/blue) inside that somehow?
I agree with things, this thing seriously needs an analog board! :)

+Fiddy Rep for the time and all your other good posts LOL :)

No worries man :D

Whats different about that 1W RGB?

And ill be amazed if that 500mW has a 473nm DPSS in it for that price.

Well, your unit positively only has ONE red, the 1W one says it has:
red 650nm 200mw + 638nm 250mw

And ill be amazed if that 500mW has a 473nm DPSS in it for that price.

I would be amazed also, yet they seem pretty clear with all the different wavelength's
as advertised.. I do not think it is any misunderstanding on their part.

I am setting one up with two Panasonic 3400mah cells in one of my carriers for portable use.

cellcarrier.jpg

These should allow for several hours of operation.

I tested it outside after dark.

Power with the two 3100mah cells in the carrier was 500mw with all lasers on.

Tested the Green alone & was impressed by the low divergence.

Much better than any other green I have.

I think the one I am selling, is a different model.

It has actual adjustable dichroic mounts:

These should allow better far-field alignment.

Hi everybody when i see this Beautifull thread and picture i get a call from dhl for my 400mw rgb unit.
I've juste receive my rgb today but from olike.

It's a different unit no sticker on but holes for ventilation.
And i want to know if your alignment are like mine. I post a photoshop shape of my spot, for 5 meter it's okay but for 10 its what i see with my eyes.
Nice picture fiddy

Edit:the beam and the dot are blue and not withe like fiddy .
Unplug the blue i get yellow it's normal.but not so powerful.
Olike say 1A input but with the 3 laser i got 640 mA
285mA for blue
240mA for red
340mA for green

Fiddy can you mesur your unit for me please?
And each color.

I reckon you could (with some crafty machining - i.e. a small baseplate) bolt a set of scanners right up to the front of one of these, stick it in a box, add ilda ports or a show card, and you have a very cheap laser show scanner indeed.

Be a great testing scanner - I might buy one of these and some 30K scanners just to experiment with - I dont want to risk damaging my DT40 widemoves! :)

I mean c'mon, who wouldnt want 400mw, or even 1W of laser show in their living room ;)

I bet it can light a match, or even a cigarette *cough cough* LOL

Anyone have a us source for the 18650 battery holders? Or for that matter does any one have one to spare?

I have these available for $2 each (prepaid in con US for 2 or more),

or with two Panasonic 3400mah cells for portable use.

Looks like I'm gonna have to pull the trigger on this one...BBS...ok, done! :paypal:

This will be my first 'white light' laser (I have a Reke 500RGB laser show unit, but it doesn't provide a white spot where all three lasers are energised simultaneously for more than a second or two tops).

Actually it will - apply 5v to the modulation inputs of all 3 lasers at once, and short the ilda interlock pins on the 25pin ILDA dsub.

BOOM white beam, full power. :)

Just be careful where you point the projector when you do this. Its now become in effect a big laser pointer, doing circa 500mw, and a reflection wont be stopped by anything but rgb goggles. And it may start a fire if it hits something like cloth curtains (trust me, I've done it before with a 800mw PJ!)

Sorry to bump this thread but I'd to get one of these and have a few questions to Fiddy/other owners:

-How many amps does the whole thing pull?
-Does it have a duty cycle? The feebay page implies it can be run continously..
-Is the 445nm single mode?
-Does it stay "well aligned" (i.e. white) at a distance?
