dont think i would ever make a fee for people being members, the advertising makes it possible for the site to be free for all

one of the main "costs" is the time and effort to maintain the forum (system maintenance stuff), but i have fun doing it and its going quite well

Under your name where it says Class 3R Laser, would be custom text :P
 
the custom host auction seemed to work well. We should do stuff like that more often, 7 hour notice and made the forum an extra $52 for the month.
 
Thanks for all your input guys but if you look at the donations bar, & read Avery's post, I think we're doin' pretty well just as things are, IMHO ! On the other hand, keep the suggestions coming, someone just might hit on something really dynamite that we can implement. Thanks to all who submitted/commented on the suggestions............rob

special thx to all that donated, this month alone the donations paid for basically 2 months of hosting entirely
 
Hey I notice it takes a while to gain rep points on here so why not give a rep point or two for each donation ? This would help me and other lurkers here to gain points and would be an incentive for others to donate. My two cents.

NOT a good idea. This was discussed before & it was decided that people would just "BUY" their rep pts. But keep thinkin' pal, 'new' ideas will ALWAYS be considered.......rob
 
Not sure if this was brought up before or not but how about lpf shirts? I sure they are some talented artists that could come up with something unique? I know i'd buy one :P
 
Someone already was selling LPF T-Shirts. IDK how well that turned out though ????
 
I didn't know about that either...I would totally throw down for an LPF shirt!
 
LPF Hosts, heatsinks ??? there are some good machinists out there, dont know if anyone could do this ???

@ Kookapeli, Edit of my OP done. Don't know if having LPF stamped/engraved on a heatsink would generate much revenue. Heatsinks are generally hidden, although the 'HOST' idea might be OK. It would have to be a truly original host though.
