Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

I dont sugar coat things, and sometimes people think its rude. I forget we get piles of new members a day, and they dont know me.

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

Yes. Tempting to pull the trigger on the 300mW version, but I don't feel like dealing a dispute in a month when I still don't have a laser.

were you being sarcastic?
why would you EVER order from WL knowing their rep
you can get the red "mini arctic" from lazerer and just put a module in there

heck, the WL is probably less than 200mw...

Not sarcastic... but very buzzed. Spent all day at a bbq:friend: so I'm a little:drunk:

I like the look of the laser, but fact of the matter is I almost never use my arctic... too big for pocket carry, so I get this one, I would never use it either. Tearing it apart would be fun... but I'll survive until someone posts a real review - in 6-8 months when this laser start showing up.

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

Examine max/min power ratings:

300mw/150mw
500mw/250mw
1000mw/500mw

Move along folks, nothing to see here...

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

Change title to... "Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green lies from WL" lol

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

why not tear apart your current arctic?
lol
or get the mini red arctic to do it :)
cheaper and more portable!

He doesnt build, just buys.

I ordered one of those hosts, and going to throw in 12X. :D

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

so very tempted to get one
but really the min/max power rating just kills it
min power of 150mW from the 300 i mean cmon
I can get 150mW from other sources

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

WL core is a decent - get what you pay for laser.
WL dragon case was very cool

Beyond that I wouldn't buy from them. IMO you aren't going to get what is advertised.

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

Didn't anyone else get the email from WL? Everything is all good now! :D

Introducing the world's brightest laser you can legally own.
More than 8000 times brighter than the sun.

Dear William,

The Spyder 3 Krypton green laser is now available in 3 power outputs, <300mW, <500mW, and <1W. This is the world's brightest handheld laser and over 8,000 times brighter than the looking at the sun.

First, I want to personally apologize about our backorder situation that you may have experienced. Last year, with the release of the Spyder 3 Arctic, the world's most powerful laser, we lost control of our manufacturing schedule. Thousands of customers waited several months before they finally received their products. Regrettably, we've lost a lot of our hard-earned reputation and trust.

This time around, we've learned our lesson, and expect different business practices as a result. You will see the in-stock quantity in real time on every product to know for certain that our products are in stock or not. Right now, there are less than 1,000 Kryptons in stock, and we expect to sell out of certain models fairly quickly.

Once they run out, we will not accept any pre-orders for Kryptons not in stock until we have a definite, concrete, and confirmed date when we will have them manufactured. This might not happen for several weeks, so we apologize in advance for not having made enough. Kryptons are a magnitude of complexity above to manufacture given they rely on DPSS technology instead of the direct diode technology found in the Arctic.

The Krypton is not only is brightest handheld laser in the world. It's also the most advanced, utilizing Smartswitch 2.0 with 9 modes of operation. It also is the first laser to contain TeslaCool Theromstatic Regulation, meaning, you can turn on the laser indefinitely without risk of damaging the diode.

Thank you for your support of Wicked Lasers, and please wear the included safety goggles when using high-powered laser products. Do not shine lasers at airplanes or vehicles, it is considered a felony in the USA to do so.

I was being ever so slightly sarcastic. But honestly, I never really had a problem with mine. Other than the several month wait, the power being tons underspec, and the paint chipping off the button, it was great!

Re: Spyder 3 Krypton - 1W of green power from WL

Ya.... 1 Watt of green out of that with unlimited duty cycle? Funny... It'll probably have an output of ~300-400mw 532nm, and 600-700mw 1064nm... Hope those goggles they sell with it are rated for IR as well!
Power Consumption: 3.7V @ 1A - 2A
Anyone else see a problem with that? ^
Most 400mw green lasers have an IR pump diode that draws 2 amps.
Maybe they need 5 amp draw?!?!?
There is no way they're getting a 50% efficiency off a DPPS system, most are lucky to be ~20%.
Way to fail, again.
