It's an older diode, I'm surprised you havent heard of it. Most high power red diode labbies use them.

Are they in the 5.6 mm form? Kind of embarrassed
but this is news to me, I thought the lpc series was
it for single mode 650 200+ mW besides the newer
3.8 mm diodes. Links?

The PL650-1000 has a very thick beam. So i don't think it is a direct diode and lens setup.

Thick beams are common for high power diodes such as 650nm 1W , So it would be a direct diode setup / lense , probably a C mount With FAC as they come in 650nm 1 watt ranges .

there was another member that used the same laser and compared it to the Mit. 500mW and he head this one had better beam specs.
