The part numbers refers to two different diodes. This thread just deals with the GH04850B2G diode.

Maybe there is some confusion as I have not looked through his thread but all the diodes from this current release are the GH04850B2G. As I understand one of the previous releases had that GH04955A2G diode.

yea i get that,all im trying to say is that the name of your diodes GH04850B2G this 48 refers to the 480-489nm range, wish someone with a spectrometer will test a diode from your batch, personally i would prefer those to be real 488nm diodes :)

It's interesting how your camera picks the color. Would you call it green or blue from the very first look ?

Yea I know there are some going out to be tested and someone said that CNI should be doing some tests on them as well.

Took a look over in his thread. Maybe he has not go round to changing the part number in the OP. If the diodes just landed today like everyone else who had orders from this release they should be the GH04850B2G diode.

Styro confirmed he has the same diodes. He said he might run it against the other to see if he can get a hint of different between them.:beer:

And I can confirm mine are the same as styropyro's (same supplier)

Hi Red,
Yes mine were binned between those two WL's that was nice with no extra cost to me.
@ DTR,
I still have some of the first diodes and I will see the WL between the two at the same driver settings @ 220mA /G2..
I was looking through my diode stock and I found a bonus I forgot about. A 480nm diode .. this might be the only one still in existence ..

Also Alaskan, you can get the plt5-488s for $250 ish. Much better than eBay... But if these are in the 480s, those are worthless...

I tested one of these new diodes against an older 495nm, and the new one is definitely bluer. I'm gonna have to break out the argon ion laser later to compare it against these diodes.

I have 20 of these diodes in hand and plan on testing them shortly. Like all the Sharp diodes I've seen so far these don't have the part number on them. These have the iteration number SB308B292. I will know in the next two hours where these are in wavelength. I have to finish other personal things before I can start testing. I guess I could post here or start a new thread as I have two more shipments coming.

These are clearly marked as 495nm diodes on the outside of the diode container. I have said it before, but I will be surprised if any of these are 488nm. I don't know yet, I am only going by what I've seen so far, people eyes notwithstanding.
