Here are some pictures from Sokcho, Gagwondo, South Korea.
The coastline is beautiful here and the air is extremely clean. The only downside to living here is the crappy rundown apartments and the high snowfall and -16c to -20c winters. This area sees 1-1.5 meters of snow just about every year.
far left: Over looking Sokcho sea wall, taken from the balcony of the Maremons Hotel at 5am. Sun comes up at ~5:30am here.
Middle: Late day at Abaimal, home to North Korea refugees and 2nd gen North Korean, South Koreans. The food here is outstanding.
I highly recommend the stuffed squid and the Hamhung-style raw fish nengmyeon!!! yummy!
The flower far right, is a Mugunwha, or Tree Hibiscus which is native to South Korea and China. These are NOT tropical bush hibiscus.
These will take freezes down to -30c and thrive as long as you've got warm/hot summers. This flower is the national flower of both North and South Korea. I had 5 on my wedding cake laser year with 5 Dogwood flowers representing British Columbia's provincial flower.
