I was going back rereading threads SBA. Which soldering iron was it? As you have way more experience at this point, if I can afford it I will. At this point I was just looking at a Radio Shack set, either $50 or $100.

LB, mine is the WES51. It has ESD protection and the temp lockout. I think I paid $75 w/ shipping. Check Amazon and Ebay both before purchasing.

Nice, I saw it for around $100, I'll check around. Norbyx had a cool link, but I didn't see the ESD protection. That looks like a good thing to have.

Thanks,

Is ESD a big problem in texas? It's always nice and wet here in Canada so it's rarely a problem though I still take precautions.

Perhaps, if I were down near Houston, like Hak, it wouldn't be much of an issue. Out here on the prairie, it can be.

I really need a new desk... And a chair too. I'm using a desk that my grandparents gave my parents and they gave to me... And I'm using my bed as a chair. I have a $130 keyboard, a $40 mouse, $120 speakers, a $200 TV and a $240 monitor ($730 total) on this extremely old piece of wood XD
I can't even fit my desktop or subwoofer on here, there's no more room to fit anything :/
I might post pics tomorrow, but I need to get to sleep soon.

Here's my workshop while testing a triple PT54 lamp.

It's a "little" messy since everytime I clean up, other people in the house keeps stashing stuff into the shop. Keeping it that way prevents more from accumulating. :shhh:

I barely have enough space on the desk for what I'm working on. So the fan had to stay on the floor. :D

This is the fun half of my desk, the other half is just a computer for porn. I mean work. Usually its a slew of interconnecting wires and components with various monitoring and debugging interfaces tied in the midst of it all with data sheets pinned all over the walls, but I'm between projects right now so it's a little boring....
