These look very much like DTR's G3 lens. But, they have a shorter FL than the G3 does. A bit longer than the G2s, though. I ordered one just to see how they compare. Thanks for the link.

I have been enjoying some single mode 635-638nm LD's and found these for sale, they look nice like G2 style barrels and the small input is like some acrylics I have that work well and eliminate overspray, I just bought some as they look worth a try.

I took a look at these and assumed they were M9 x 0.5 but I now see they are listed as M7 x 0.5.....actually the " P " in the description can make it look like M9 at a quick glance. ( M7xP0.5x7.5 ) I should wear my reading glasses. :/

Sorry about not pointing that out but I overlooked it, luckily I only bought a couple and maybe can use them in some Chinese modules....... I know I have some Chinese brass salvaged that holds a 5.6 diode with M7*5 lens.

These would be useful for our M9x0.5, they are 3 element and 6mm FL

or these

Damn! I didn't even look at the housing. I just assumed it was the right size since you bought some first. I did contact Newgazer and asked them to cancel as it has been over an hour since I ordered it. I will pay closer attention next time.

I still owe you a large PCX lens Paul, didn't forget. When I find where the hell I put those PL530 modules in my last move, will send together to you.

Thanks, Chris. I wasn't going to say anything. Also, Newgazer sent out my lens last night. That was fast! I wonder if it had anything to do with my request to cancel the order? Well, I'm stuck with it now.

I received this lens in the mail today. Because I had to pay sales tax on it, the thing cost me $5.50. It is tiny and doesn't look like it will come apart.....at least not easily. Also, it is a multi-element lens which wasn't stated in the offer. The input aperture is even smaller that the DTR G3. It is very tiny. I doubt I will ever find a use for this thing.

5 bucks..............I was looking at my trays of laser parts the other day and I must have 5000.00 in diodes/drivers/lenses/optics/parts from just the last 24 months.

I also have several thousands of dollars tied up in parts I may never use. I still don't enjoy spending even one dollar needlessly. My post was meant to be a warning to anyone else contemplating this lens as an item they might purchase.

Maybe you won't use many of those parts, but the possibilities are there for you. I have the same, need machining skills to use this stuff.

I'm still sitting on 100.00 worth of those " Red Copper " Chinese modules and they are worthless for all but very low output 9mm diodes ( As if I will ever use that ) so while we are passing out warnings Don't buy any Chinese red copper because it won't move heat worth a dam.

p.s. The yellow brass modules are ok.

Don't get me wrong. I don't regret purchasing all the items that I expected to use. It is only the ones that are useless that I regret. I likely wouldn't part with the countless drivers, heat sinks, batteries, diodes, et al. I do have plans for many, but may never get around to all of them. IDK.
