PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please sub

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

594nm Fiber Coupled HeNe w/ PSU $699. I think Junktronics is always aware of what they have lol.

Not sure how good of a deal that is, but I dont see 594's up there much.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The only reason that 594 is $700 is because it is fiber coupled.

My advice? Talk to Sam about a 594, or check the classifieds. I got my 2 line 5mW from him for $200 less than that.

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

Get yourself a Fenix TK75. Best of both worlds.

For a budget thrower get a SkyRay King. If you want way more quality, and a smaller size, but with an increase in price, I love my Zebralight S6330... smaller than a soda can.

For a mid range budget thrower, this with coupon code BLF is great, especially with an aspheric head.

For high end production throwers, Niwalker BK FA01 seems to be the best option out there right now.

Thanks for all the advice!

If I do get the TK75, where should I buy it from?
Don't think I'll get the sky ray king as the reviews say it has some problems (parasitic draw is something I cannot stand)

The cheapest price I could find was from here: Fenix TK75 3x Cree XM-L U2 LED 2600 lumens Flashlight [TK75] - $193.00 : www.doingoutdoor.com

Email Bill for a coupon code, or I'll PM you his price that he quoted for me.

You can't beat the SRK for its price. It easily pumps 30W of light, and makes plastic bags shrivel in pain. :eg: I hate parasitic drain either, but it can be locked out very easily and lasts months even if you don't. Cheapest price: $34 with coupon code
QSFKBUSSAQRT.

SkyRay King 3T6 3XCree XM-L T6 LED 3000K 2000-Lumen 3-Mode Yellow Flashlight(4X18650) Questionable quality though, but still worth every penny.

I don't know much about flashlights, how would that SRK compare to this one brightness/power/beam wise?

Re: PERMANENT THREAD: Ebay& other internet FINDS of interest- read all the OP please

The SRK is roughly three times as bright, and has a lot of flood compared to the C8.

Throw wise, they should be both similar because having 3 LED's compensates for the smaller reflector.

The beam profile of the SRK would be much smoother without any artifacts, while the C8's I got from there had some artifacts and rings around the hotspot.

Sure :)

I'll second getting it from Bill and doingoutdoor. PM me if you need his email.

Abou the SRK, I think it gets a bit of a bad rep. The parasitic drain is also not really a problem... quarter turn of the batter tube if you don't plan to use it for a while and you're set.

Unfortunately any kind of light with an electronic switch, you will have parasitic drain with, but unless you plan to leave it sitting for months armed, it's really not an issue.

Thanks for the heads-up Hak. For some reason I was not receiving those SS emails. I just bought another 100 Bourns 5k trim pots at $1 each + 47% off -- a total of $53. They're normally $2.74 each in those quantities from Mouser. It's like getting 80% off on those multiturn, brand-name trim pots. Bought a bunch of ferrites too, so I can make cheap "Joule thiefs"

For crying out loud, how do you create an account at surplus shed? I've tried their registration form many times (from both IE and Firefox) and it always clears all fields instead of creating the account. What am I doing wrong?
