I have seen it before, you may get a real tracking number after a delay and when you get your package it will have a 50 cent plastic watch in there.

Not sure if pressure on those is right for 612, or if it makes that much of a difference. Kaiser would have the answer to that. Shipping will be fun... It looks to me like it has mirrors, going from the pictures. Could well just be out of alignment/in need of a good cleaning. Alignment on these is touchy. Small bore diameter, fairly low gain (At least compared to some other gas lasers and the HeNe 3.39um line), large cavity length.

Notice the permanent magnets along the underside of the tube?

Well if a short 1-B tube can lase orange with a 612 OC and a broadband HR, then you should be able to get something of it with the optimal optics.

I ordered four high power LED flashlights once at 25% the going rate... package tracked fine, then received a small blister pack with a single rubber balloon in it.

Ebay refunded, but shortly after their account was shut down. Seller claims an employee did that, stole the flashlights and sent the packs with balloons in them to several customers. I have a hard time believing that due to the deep discount, was probably a scam listing them so cheaply they probably got a lot of orders and walked off with the money.

He seems to have mistaken the 10 mw 1064 nm with watts, I have one of these they work well and will produce about 5 watts when driven to normal current, some of these come with that 6 watts max tag when they were never designed to be pushed that hard, even some rated at 4 watts output come with the same 6 watts maximum warning label. Although, we do push our lasers hard, perhaps it can. To make it work it needs three current controlled sources; high current diode, TEC for NL crystal and TEC for diode. The two TEC's are tied to temperature probes, so a simple constant current driver won't work, must have a circuit to monitor the thermistors and adjust the current to keep the temperatures right.

I've seen these sell from 400 to 800 USD, Junktronix has one listed over over 1600 USD. There are two of these listed on ebay in the US from 1400 to 1700. Edit: I don't see the Junktronics listing anymore. That one next to the keyboard has been listed for two or more years, I suggested he gets it tested to sell at that high of a price, but as far as I know, he hasn't.

I looked at the "400 mW RGB module" and it also included the drivers and power supplies, for around $8.00, IIRC. He sold four items in the past, so I can't imagine what this would actually turn out to be, Probably a photo of the projector.


Edit; I just got a new book to add to my collection of books on quantum electrodynamics. It is "Theoretical Physics" by Georg Joos. 885 pages of equations and some photographs. It is in brand new condition from Amazon.

Ask for better packaging. Saying that, it's China, probably wouldn't get it... Always a bonus when sellers listen to requests like that.


Same seller has "1W 520nm" diodes for $8.

I may buy that RGB module ... if it's a scam I can at least get my money back... For $9 it's not really much of a loss, I'll just smoke half as many cigarettes for a day!

Edit: Yup... Let's see how this turns out. :crackup:

I hope you will post about this when you have gotten, or not, whatever it is they are selling, icecruncher. I didn't order it as it really stank of scam to me. I hope you get three diodes all in their modules with drivers and power supply, with 400 mW of white optical power.

I really doubt it will be as listed, but it's through Paypal and I have a 100% on my feedback, so getting money back won't be an issue if it isn't, and I'm patient

Interesting. I hope you don't have to wait a very long time as i am curious now about this seller. I hope it works out well for both of you. it's my suspicious nature that tells me it won't. Even if this seller doesn't keep enough money in his account to refund you, PP will.
