NUBM08E the new 9-10 watter

I don't think you need to pump any coolant, but you could imbed a temp sensor and see how it regulates at the block....only the blocks are a strange material.

These Gballs are fun, but I want a hell of a lot more power for my wood burning art, actually I want to do art in steel, then paint in the cuts, it's going to look unique but I need a lot more power to cut at brush stroke speed.

If anyone knows of a used fiber laser for sale let me know.

Im using a heatpipe cooler but I cut all the fins off and replumbed it for liquid cooling. I also unsoldered the plate because it wasn't soldered as well as I wanted. So I loaded it up with solder so I would conduct better. I thought about using the heatpipes as they were but liquid will be better. Those heatpipes only have a tiny bit of water in them that needs to turn to steam before it starts moving around. I may end up not using the TEC cooler just because it does a good job on its own I feel like it may be redundant.

Hi LTG.
Thats great news we all would like some cheaper prices on diodes and other items. I received my order from you and all the extra stuff you sent very please with the service thank you. + Rep

R.G. - Hell yeah! That's wonderful to hear, my friend!

If this supplier isn't blowin smoke, this forum is goin to have a freakin field day buyin these high-power diodes..

Now, if anyone reading this is looking for more conservative diodes I've got..

Nichia NDB7875 @ $37/ea
Osram PLTB450B @ $25/ea

:bumpit: Has anyone bit the bullet on these yet? I wanna know what they can do!

Looks like the NUBMO8 isn't as good as we all hoped but still interesting,

Here is the 14 page spec sheet, I don't think it's fake, it's a 455nn diode
3.5a Max rating, 4.35w type, I noticed they have a tension plate on the diodes they might be very difficult to extract!

NUBM08 spec(2).pdf

I'm not sure how to link or copy an email attachment!

I speculate these will be hotter than the NUBM06 and a lot of fun, I will find out, that much I do know. :D :D :D

I ordered and am excited to try out a new diode, I love new diodes.

WOW that 455nm looks good, it looks brighter blue than 450's and 445's

I have the feeling I will want more of these.

I'm hoping he is going to spectro it at different outputs like he shows with the 07E. I'm running an 07E I built today at max sxd which should be around 5.5A and the color looks kind of teal. Will get pics tomorrow. Way different than my other 07E at 4.8A.
The price of thE 08E is in line with all the other blue diodes with this kind of "oomph". Looking forward to you playing reindeer games with one of these Red;)

I took my 07E out of it's host and put in into a test bed and used a lab supply.
My driver was a 3.5a so I ran it up to 3.5 and it looked good, then running up to 4.5a it was a little brighter but at 5.0 it started to shunt down, at 5.5 it had dimmed a lot so I backed the current down to 4.5a and it brightened back up.
Now admitted mine is not new, but not super high mileage either, but I don't think it would like 5.5amps at all, maybe when they are new?

I'm probably going to run my 1st NUBM08 at 4.0 amps but I may see where it shunts on the lab supply, looking at DTR's test 4.0 amps looks like a good place to be.
