NOW 447nm CNI lasers & GB #11

Ok, I want to just get a confirmation with Glenn that I can order the PGL-III-C 447 that *does* have corrective optics.. Power's nice, but beam quality is, too.

Glenn, can you weigh in on this? (When you get time of course.)

Hey RA looks like they just updated the site! They have a glp-635nm now but its in a new wish host!!! wtf?

That's been there for a while now. I wondered why they would put it in a cheapy pen like that myself. The black and gold CNI pen is much better, I think.

I'd definitely be in for a 589 5mW. I'm not sure how many others would be, though, with the 445 craze still raging...

I wonder if it would be worth asking CNI if they can do 5mW 473 and 589 in the slimmer AAA GLP... I'll have to double-check my bank account. :o

Im pretty sure the modules are wayyyy to big.. but Im not sure what they're capable of.. If more interest is shown in the 589's ill get in.

Has anyone seen what kind of power outputs the 589's are coming in at or has the first batch not arrived?

Ya I meant the GLP 589 1-2mW pointers. I know Glenn usually gets units over spec but I was just curious.

I sent an email to Ava asking if it was possible to get the smaller pens in those wavelengths.

So far, I don't think anyone has ordered/reviewed one of the 589nm GLPs. I would definitely be in for one if a 10pcs GB can be organized.

What do you think about ordering 10pcs of the 30mW 589nm GLPs if I get a price around $540?

I noticed they now only show <500mW options on their website now. Maybe it's just for US customers, rather upsetting. I'm still interested in the 500 however.

I got the chance to test a "pen type" LaserGlow 589nm rated 40mW, and I was very disappointed and returned it. The output I saw never exceded 15mW on that one unit. However, I do believe they can be found occasionally at or near this 40mW output but would likely vary a lot in a short "On" time. Even my PGL III 589nm, (rated 5mW), will go up and down in output typically being 15 to 30 mW. If this seems like a defect, you may need to read more about various DPSS lasers...

I am working on finding out the "Dot" shape of the 447nm lasers atm...

Best Wishes! -Glenn

Is it illegal for them to import a >500mw laser to the U.S.? As long as I'm going class 4, I'd really like something closer to 1W. If I can't get anything higher than 500mw model shipped to me, would it be possible to push the 500mw model higher once it arrived?

For the 447's i still want to see what they say about the "which ones have corrective optics, which ones don't" / "which ones have a circular beam, which have a rectangular beam".

From what I understand so far, up to the 500mW 447 PGL-III-C has a circular beam/corrective optics, -- and maybe the 600mW.

Prototype - you seem to have some of this info, could you post that here, or a link to where you got it?

You know, really, I'm fine with that. 447mW 500mW with corrective optics in a PGL-III-C host? Please, yes, I'll take that. If only we can get a definite answer to Glenn via Ava, I want to place my order on this one...

Two CR123a's instead of one 18650? Well that sure is 'different' for a PGL-III-C...Voltage requirements, I'd guess? Shouldn't be, I've got no problem running my existing 445 on an 18650...

I really wish the 5mW 447nm pens were the two AAA host instead of the two CR2s, but hey, can't really complain, it's a blue laser after all :san:

I'm a little confused. Is the 447nm GLP being offered? Does the 5mW 447nm GLP have corrective optics?
