NOW 447nm CNI lasers & GB #11






Hey Glenn, do you have any special silver cases that the 447nm can fit in?
 
Really hope these arrive before I have to go away for a while in December...

Really, someone has to tell Glenn to follow up on this and get us some information -- by this point we really should have a definite idea of arrival and status... but it's still quite up in the air.

Abolfazl - if you talk to Glenn on Laserchat, could you maybe ask if he could push CNI for a concrete date range and status?

If this continues into December, we're talking *5 months* here... It's been almost 4 so far...

Really don't mean to be impatient but I've got around $650 caught up in this GB ... and the (relative) silence is making me nervous.

My mistake, I thought you were speaking to him on Laserchat, sorry. I just knew you had some 'realtime' contact with him...

Either way, we have to get some definite answers from CNI here, real soon... I know there are also some vets who are local to Glenn who could maybe get the story, or, perhaps one of us could be made the "point of contact" for CNI if Glenn's too busy, for the remainder of this GB...

If I asked CNI about it myself they probably wouldn't reveal anything to me...

Maybe Glenn could let CNI know that one of us is sort of a "surrogate point of contact", so one of us could get status updates, and relate them to the other GB participants.

Either way we probably have to push CNI for some real motion on this...
 
hmm. Well we still need to follow up somehow. Because the plot is thickening a bit.

Len/Hakzaw is having some slight complications over on Jetlasers GB#2 , as far as shipping goes, from China to the US, due to the recent bomb scares and heightened security in the US.

As far as I know he's going to have to make some other arrangements to make sure the lasers arrive safely in the US. Glenn will probably have to do the same.

Not so big a deal when the GB organizer is actively talking with the laser manufacturer, and the laser manufacturer is actively talking with us; but that's not what's happening over on this side of the fence.. so it's a concern.

Really, we need to get Glenn in a dialogue with us here, and I'm not sure how we're going to go about that due to his recent scarcity...

Perhaps "cnilaser" is around, somewhere, here on the forum, and they could comment?

Aryntha: I'm just watching this from the sidelines, but why don't YOU simply email CNI, explain the situation and ask who you should be talking to?

All my emails to CNI are returned promptly and they seem very helpful. Personally, i think it's too early to start worrying, I mean the GB was finalized just a week or two ago, right? And CNI is a company with a great reputation, no one should be concerned about getting their lasers from these guys.

But if it makes you feel better to get updates, take the reigns and go for it!

Already did. Didn't get much.

I am one of the participants / customers in “Glenn H.’s” recent bulk order (group buy) for the LPF forums.
(my name is xxxx – I am also a repeat direct CNI customer, as well.)

Glenn has been extremely busy with a new job; I was just wondering if we, as customers in this order, or I myself, as a customer for this order, could check on the production status of it?

The specific lasers that I am aware of in this order are:

The problem is, Ava really *shouldn't* respond to me. This is Glenn's deal, and not mine. I actually felt it was a bit not-so-great to intercept, here, and Glenn if you do end up reading this, I apologize for that, I was just trying to get word. However, as you can see, there wasn't much of a result.

Not sure why she said "the laser", (singular) - but that's always been my difficulty with CNI; the language issues. I have to phrase everything very deliberately - and I did.

The concern is that we're pushing 4 months now with very few status updates. I'm trying to get the info that I can since Glenn seems otherwise occupied.
But since I didn't place the order, CNI won't talk to me much.

This is my 4th CNI GB, and I've bought from them directly 3 times, so yes, I know that it *usually works out* with them. But combined with the Arctic mess and the recent tightened security, I've got concerns about shipping - the game changed a bit since GB#10.

It's just that the lack of feedback is what's been frustrating. The reason I asked others to speak to Glenn is because I know there are people who are in more regular contact with him, are local to him, and know him better.

And that CNI is going to give him updates far more readily than I. (In this case, after all, I'm only their customer 'indirectly'.) Technically CNI could say "none of your business" and they'd be in the right, as none of us placed the order.

I don't want to step on any toes, either, MojoLA. It's just that in the past we got a lot more information along the way.
