New High Power Blu-ray Sled! - SF-AW210 Graph!

Both diodes that I had did ~240mW @ less than 200mA (about 198mA) through an aixiz acrylic lens...

Just thought I would let you guys know that I have another one of these diodes doing 290mW @ only 198mA    :o :o :o :o :o :o

Edit: Just measured again, it was 215mA and through an acrylic lens :o :o

That sounds quite a bit like what my first diode will do at that current, if it keeps going as it is currently (no pun intended). There's nothing for it, I am gonna have to get myself a 405-G-1 lens mod and put this in a leadlight or pocket build...

/me burns several trousers (and legs) before deciding it was a bad idea after all...

Sounds like my 'freak' one was not a freak after all...

Whey you get the 405-G-1 glass lens, watch your fingers when focusing! Everybody gets burnt! ;D

As soon as I have the money you will be receiving a PM.

I will need to sell 10 PHRs before I can buy it/them, because I need to buy some stuff for my DT course first, and can't wait for term to start since DX delivery will inevitably take weeks, and I want to finish the coursework before anyone else starts it ;D

If the above made no sense, it is because it's 3AM over here, and I should have been asleep hours ago...

I know that it has been mentioned before, but I think that some sleds have been damaged, and the diode will inevitably have been damaged as well, which gives the varied results

Runing my AW210 at 190.00mA and will report on this thread from time to time to report on it's progress.

As for now the temp on the unit is warm to the touch and the lava drive is singing pretty well at this point. I'm going to leave it here and report back in the event of falure with run time senario.

My opinion is that this diode if left to mercyful runtime is better than the PHR. Around the 4x range
Not to bad of a unit , but at the same time , to many unknowns especially the pot luck in the shape of the unit upon arrival. At the current cost it could be considered a deal if you

A) get a unit that wasn't smashed to hell.
B) are appreciative of the short open diode in it. :P :P :P

When in the world are the 6x's commin back and not at $120.00 a piece. There has to be an answer
someware out there.

I think this diode kills the 4x diode...

From the three diodes I've had, it even kills the 6x diode. mine will do 200mW at probably around 150mA.... That is efficiency!! It was doing 290 at 215mA... that's just nuts!! Imagine a good lens on there and I'd be knocking on the door of 400mW at barely over 200mA

that is true....ill push one once i get my meter i have 5 left still

What meter is that... Jake... I thought you sold your LaserBee I and your
Kenometer.... now I'm confused.... :-/
You go through meters like I change my socks.... ;D

Jerry

lol i have 2 Kenometer... well had i have one coming still i helped a fellow member out :)

My AW210 at 150 mA shows 210 mW. I've stopped at 250 mA ( 357 mW) because of JayRob's testing and I think I found a first knee in the power curve about there. No life tests yet.
These readings are using Jay's 405G1 lens assembly :D
