My new 445 build with super efficient diode :D

Here's another 445 build I made , this one has a very very nice diode
Used a linear driver, set the M140 from DTR @ 1.11Amps, glass lens, aurora C6 de anodized some spots & aluminum heatsink for the diode with the driver heatsinked with aluminum also, I wanted to see how all aluminum would preform, it's pretty good, 2 minutes on & 1 minute off, pretty much all the major heat is from the driver but that's to be expected when it's dropping 4V @ 1.11Amps.

1.42W @ 1.11Amps with a glass lens!!! I'm really happy with this one & I'm gonna keep it as long as I can

Yeah @ 1.8Amps this would be insane!!! I don't want to take it apart though, I'll just make a new one, I actually have a saik planned, hopefully it's as efficient as this one :eg:

Very nice. That is a pretty efficient one. Throw in a G-1/2 and you should have about 1.6-1.7W.:beer:

Good thing about efficient diodes is that they run cooler than the normal ones. So crank up the current ! :eg:

LOL I know it's efficient now but the driver I'm using is maxed out :crackup: but it seems like this is a pretty freak efficient diode

Maybe I'll put it in my saik ( will be run @ 1.81Amps )


BTW this is what it outputs when it's chilled in a freezer still with the glass lens,

It quickly goes back down to ~1.4 ish then after like 30 seconds continues dropping

Sinner, lol I am pretty lucky, although I remember someone else hitting 1.8W @ 1017mA with G lens & also 1.4W with the glass, so there's more diodes like this just have to get lucky
