Did you cut open your dad's mattress :P j.k.

What kind of laser are you going to build ?

100mW 405 probably... maybe blue if I find a 100mw blue for like 20-10 dollars lol here is the diode & module I found:
Brand new 405nm 80-120mW diode sled PHR-803T [OL-405SL] - $5.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Smallest 6.5mm Red laser diode module 1-3mW /focusable [OL-650-3] - $5.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

I really don't know what to put it in maybe a cheap flashlight? I only have 40 dollars from my bday and no allowence etc so this is all I got for a while...

Anybody know if you can make white by using 532 & 405 nm? If so what is the ratio? I have green and violet goggles already so I could afford a white maybe...

Why would you spend your money on a 3 mW red diode + shipping makes it arround $10 ?

And no 532 & 405 doesn't make white

For white you need a RGB ratio of 4:1:2 if i am right ( depens on 640 650 or 660 nm red )

So if you have 100mW 532 green and 660 red

660 - 4 : 445 - 2 : 532 - 1

Also when I put my 5mW green over my 5mW violet I get white, Couldn't this be an alternative?

If that was true then we all would just use 405 and 532 MEGA cheap white RGB systems but that's not going to happen

You would need Red, Green and Blue (RGB) for a white. You can also add potentiometers so you can adjust the current on each colour and make virtually any colour :)

Yes but the problem is I have goggles that protect from 405nm and 532nm not 650nm and only 40$ so I could not build a laser and buy goggles BUT if I can somehow use a 30mW red in there to make the colors I would feel ok without goggles of course not pointing it around just having it in one spot....

Well it's starting to sound like 40$ for this is impossible... I'm starting to think I should just buy a laser or something... What green laser to get for 40$....?

Im pretty sure you could make a yellow for 40 dollars :)

Dichro's from flaminpyro (not sure but im certain they are under 10 dollars)

30mW green module from Lazerer 17 dollars

LPC-815 pressed in an aixiz module with a custom made lm1117 driver. (diode = $7---Driver = $4---Aixiz = $4

Then all you need to do is connect it to a computer PSU running @ 5 volts :)
