How do you pronounce "solder", also where geographically are you located?

"Sodder" here, Canada.

I only started this poll because a british guy was calling me ignorant today for not pronouncing the L... I think it's a north american thing.

"Sodder" from Washington (the state).

The British guy was off his rocker...the "L" is silent.

I say sol-der or things get confusing...

But from where I grew up I was always around the chav kind of way of saying things so I guess here in North London (England) (well actually just north of Greater London) people pronounce it along the lines of "solda".
