At 6:54 PM (Pacific Time) we are at 1990 people online!

Can 2K online be far behind?

WAY TO GO AVERY!!!!!

Peace,
dave

It is a little cheap how the "Online" count is done here. It is set with a large delay, such that you could have been online an hour ago and you would still count as being online even though you are now gone.

So you are saying that in the last hour >2K people have been on the forum?

I don't think that takes anything away from the accomplishment.

2190 "currently online"

I remember when this place didn't get more than 20 posts a day, if that. I've posted near daily on this forum since I was 14, I'm 17 now. I guess a good forum doesn't die, right?

Just checked, it counts people who have been on in the last 14 hours at least. Only 247 are members. That is still impressive, but not too terribly impressive when you think about it.

^Debbie Downer... :p

I think it's pretty cool. Getting bigger and bigger..

LOL! Those were the days when I could have the latest post in every board! :p

EDIT: 2702 now, now are we going for 3K?? :p

I noticed that it still keeps you active even when you are not on the forum anymore as long as your browser is still open. I also jumped on the forum from another PC in my house without logging in and it showed me active. So if you go browsing after leaving the forum, or lurk from another PC with the same shared IP then it counts you as still active. Thus you could have a pile of people being logged as active and maybe 90% are not even lurking on the forum anymore.

Hmmmmmmmm

Something freaky happening with the counter?

Oh Averyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy . . . . . .

Peace,
dave

I don't think we can count guests too :P
But the fact that we have hundreds of visitors each day proves lpf's popularity!

We should definitely count guests as long as the counter is working properly. They're actually a huge part of LPF. This forum has become much more than just a laser forum. It's an often-used laser resource. Many times when you google laser related terms, you get links to LPF in the first few links. The guests represent the real power of LPF. It has been stated by the management of several respected laser companies that they get a lot of business referred to them by what people read in our threads.
