GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor *Collecting Money*

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Glad this is getting going :D These things are crazy. Yesterday, tried to cut a penny with 'em, but because the penny was able to distribute the heat rapidly, it just started to burn what I was attempting to cut it on... left a penny shaped imprint. Then, I picked up the penny, threw it to the ground because it was really hot, and then I found that it had melted itself into the carpet!

These things are NOT toys, but they sure as hell are fun!

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

TJ he is reshipping the caps for us

LOL, then why is asking to be put in your GB when he is already involved? Are you getting a discount for a mass order? Also isnt he the one making the order if he is the shipper?

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

I'll make the order since I am collecting the money... no point transferring money around more then needed. I still haven't heard back from the customer support about cutting us a deal and shipping straight to Australia... so for now Jeff will be doing the shipping

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Nice... please add me for 4

So once again, why doesnt he just order them for himself? He is going to send you money, to send them money, to ship to him, to ship to you??? I dont know, something wrong with that system.

And now Dane, LOL. I dont think people are reading the OP. Unless you are getting a GB price, you might as well just order them yourself if you live in the US. Same price, no wait.

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

TJ good point... didn't think of it like that. In anycase... we'll work that out when the time comes.

Are you from Australia? Where is the windy city?

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Post videos when you guys get these. I wanna see some big capacitor shenanigans! :D

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

I've contacted electronic goldmine about shipping to Aus in the past, I think there was a term that the order must be over $50 or something before they'll do it, strange you haven't received a reply.

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Well this is going to be ~$350 spent.. so I'm sure something can be arranged.

Yup still waiting on a reply.

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

So you just put the ends together and it makes sparks and u can melt stuff?

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Pretty much :p

The more you have, the more fun you can have

Fiddy, I want to see your 6 caps in action :D Also, wouldn't it be better to run them in parallel? The voltage will decrease therefor dropping the risk of electric shock.

You really dont want to get shocked with these... not to mention 6... That would be lethal.

Re: GB: Australia Ultra-Capacitor

Nope, 6 of them is only 15V. You won't even feel it. You're going to need to approach close to 50V before you'll start feeling anything, and that's a hell of a lot of supercaps.

Putting them in series means you have a higher voltage, but the same current handling. Higher voltage means it can force more current through a higher resistance load.
