FS: Host + Heatsink $15

Give Your self a chance to breathe this time. You should have known that you would be slammed as soon as You said $15.00 for the Host, H/S, and shipping.

It more of discovering new minute little things i have to do with the kits. while alone it may only take a few minutes, but when you multiply that by 20 times it builds up quick.

I would say from now on i'll keep it hush hush till everything is done, and then be all "surprise!" lol

cd520: how tight of a squeeze was it? because it's going to add a little bit of play room when i turn down the spacers that sit against the switch.
I may not need to do the mod to the tail cap. if someone decides later that they want it, they can simply dig out the spacers with a screw driver.

I was able to tighten the tail cap all the way down with no damage to the battery but it was tight enough that I wouldnt want to leave it that way. Note the battery didnt have a spacer or anything around it when I did it so it may have been slightly at an angle inside the host with the tailcap tightened all the way.

You know with everybody trying to squeeze a 18650 in any host that is even close you would think somebody would come out with a nice spacer sleeve that is 3XAAA pack width. I would also love to see some 3X18650 holders available without the purchase of a flashlight.

Update on the hosts. I will be turning down the plastic spacer that sits under the module. When this is done it allows the entire aixiz module plus 1/4" room for a spring or some kind of contact.

I don't understand... How will the AixiZ module connect to the clicky? If the module itself is case negative/positive, then the other connection would have to pass through the side-clicky otherwise it would be constantly on. So if the bottom of the AixiZ has a spring or contact.. then what is connecting to the clicky?

I will be cutting down the switch spacer to allow the aixiz module, and then modding the tailcap to allow the 18650/2xcr123, but i will also include the two metal spacers with everyone's package in case they wish to use the 3xAAA pill.

How easy are these spacers to install back in? Because I have no intention of using CR123's or a 18650. The 3x AAA pill is the perfect and only means of power I need.

i think you misunderstood me. The aixiz module itself does not make contact with the clicky. The heat sink is one contact, and a spring mounted on the driver, or on the bottom of the aixiz (separated by a non-conductive spacer ie a nylon washer) would be the second.

as far as the tail cap, i don't even think i'll be doing that now as cd520 said he was able to get an 18650 to fit without a problem. I think i'll leave that up to the end user, as it just requires digging into it and wedging out the pieces with something sharp.

This is what I thought was going on.

in your example, the battery touches one side of the switch, and then the other side of the switch touches the negative wire.

you sure could. I had just assumed people would use the spring, that way if you ever want to remove the heatsink/module you won't have to unsolder or unhook anything to get it out.

Yeah, I have never done a spring mod before and was worried there for a moment that my build would become more difficult than I had originally hoped.

you can fit rkcstr, flex, and micro boosts easily. That's why the spacer by the switch it shorten to allow the entire aixiz, that way you can use rkcstr drivers as well.

haha yeah. My hands are stained with grease and sovered in little nicks and calluses. Then i go to work where everyone else has soft pretty hands.
