so being since it's bdr-s03, if this the same sled used in the pioneer 8x drives?
It is NOT the same sled as the one out of my Pioneer BDR-203BK.
Also the diode is probably not the same one. The diode in my BK had a small square bar code on the back and nothing on the can. This one has nothing on the back and an alpha/numeric code burned into the side of the can.
This is one of the reasons we need a few more people to test one. Sometimes (especially at the beginning and ending of a manufacturing run) parts are "swapped" out. Remember the PHR-803T vs, DT-0811 challenge. We are getting a pretty good picture of the diode in the BDR-203BK, but this one is new. One test is not enough to know the validity of that test nor the consistency of the diodes used in the sleds.
