That is no so good news but we have alternatives, Lazeerer X-Boost or the Ben Boost driver.

I've got a 12x9mm boost driver :D it's being scoped & tested now if all goes well it will be 12$ :)

If you just need 350mA you can use AMC7135 ic. Works like a charm on 635nm diode with one cell. This driver is even smaller than a flexdrive, http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-amc7135-drivers-68834.html

Yeah I made those little drivers you linked to! I used them in my 635, work great. Don't think he sells them anymore though.

I think the x-drive will work for them from one cell.

I'm trying to find some drivers for a 635 and a DPSS green for a project I'm working on. I only need 150-160mA for the 635 though. The 532 is from an old Leadlight that was putting out ~10mW. I wish I knew what the current setting was. I'm thinking 200mA should be a good starting point so I need something that is easily adjusted.

I have an adjustable linear if you want, it's 11mm x 8mm :)

I have lots of linear drivers, but for a single 16350 or 14500 / AA host running a 405 or 445nm diode you can't do much with a linear driver.

I have a PHR diode in a 1 x AA host with two (NON rechargeable) 3.6V SAFT Lithium-thionyl chloride 14250 (1/2 AA) batteries and that works OK, but these things are NOT designed for high current!

EDIT- SAFETY NOTE: If you use Lithium-thionyl chloride batteries just be aware that these things are a severe fire / explosion hazard if you try and suck too much current from them, get them too hot, or try to recharge them! I'm drawing about 120mA and they are fine at that. These cells have a very long life and are designed to power burglar alarms, remote controls and the like.

I measure my driver at 7x7mm. I don't know about the driver from Moh. They are pretty small too.

Why not use a Micro-Boost drive for your 635 ?

they are in stock here...

It would be awesome if we could but unfortunately the microboost is a boost only driver that requires a 2.7V-5.5V input and the 635's have a forward voltage of about 2.8V.:(

Any luck on that flexdrive I sent in for repair yet? It is approaching a year now and I still have a host on the table waiting for one.

I have two micro flex drives V5 I am trying to sell but am waiting for moderator to get my stuff posted. The flex drives still have the most amazing regulation I have ever seen but then again I was using them for LEDs. I remember having a heck of a time getting mine back in the day too.

EDIT: These are sold. To this day I am still impressed with those drivers! I wish they would start making LED specific drivers!

Yep your right I have not heard a new thing in a long time and I have asked several times.

I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.

I will place a call soon and try and get some new info.

Later...
