Wow I'm easily influenced, now I'm strongly leaning towards the -C :crackup:

This is all a bit pre-mature of me though, I'm still not 100% sure if I'm getting the laser.

Wow a lot happened overnight. Might get my own 473 as well. Hate my labby..

No emails from CNI :/ wish I could answer the cost question, but they aren't really working with me here..

If the 473's are as over spec as people are saying, I may do that instead. Make sure and find out how the 10 pcs works. Does it have to be 10 in GB or 10 of that laser?

Also, would the GLP's likely be so over spec or just the PL-C's?

Just don´t bombard Ava with questions. Short senteces and English as easy as possible are also helpful.

Around June 14 would be perfect for me.. I was thinking.. Anyone in Australia who is in this GB, we should get ours sent to one address here then send them out to the others to save on postage..Im sure getting them sent like that would save a few bucks.

Generally the shipments get split up by continenent when it comes to these things. So we'll get all that settled when it gets to that time.

About contact with Ava, I'll keep that in mind. I forget that English is a second language for her.

I'll report back with any info I get tonight. Doing some base volunteer work in the morning, but hopefully they get in to work early.

No GLP is on spec. But don't think like that..(I'm buying an 10mw I'll get 40mW)
DPSS are a little unstable so the average on PGL 10mW will be ~17mW. ;)

Seems we won't know total shipping cost until all numbers are accounted for. Still trying to find out whether we can get the bulk price if the numbers are scattered on various hosts. Having a hard time getting answers.

405 and 473 are two completely different animals that look nothing alike..

I'd be curious to know about this too. I really can't afford it right now but I'm really tempted to squeeze together the funds to get either a 473 PLC from this GB or one from the Jetlasers GB going on now too. These GB deals don't come up very often.

Indeed. They're totally different. I'll try to dig out a pic comparing the two tomorrow.


On a related note by your location I'm guessing you're down at Offutt AFB by Omaha and if you are I hope you're not getting to get pounded by the same line of storms that's dumping on us up here in NW Iowa.

So does that mean that they will ship it like you suggested?

Also, is there any chance getting anymore of a discount or are these prices final?

I am leaning towards a GLP-473 or GLP-589 but I have a couple questions:
1. For those who have bought them in the past, what mW did you get from a 5mW unit?
2. For this GB, if we have 15 people in the GB but only 1 or 2 want a certain laser, which price is it? 1 pc price because so few of THAT LASER or 10pcs because so many overall units?

These two factors will largely influence what I buy. I want a visible beam at night pretty bad. The beam is my favorite part of the laser.
