Sm you should get your 520 measured on what wavelength it is! Maybe you got an ultra rare diode :D

@ IE yes i will ask about the ammount of IR the filters block ;)

You are not going to believe this. I got an answer from Kevin about the underspec PL660-1000. He said I need to cut away the sticker on the front to make the aperture larger. I cut away very carefully the piece of the sticker that blocks the aperture. The power has increase almost 50% !!
Thanks for the solution. I am very happy now. :D
Nevertheless the laser should be right from the beginning. :tsk:

0.o just wow... @ EVERYBODY TAKE DOWN THAT STICKER lol ( I did the same as you blord with my PL445 about two months ago, however mine did not get a power increase..)

 Going to check on what when I get home, but 99% sure the beam of the HL532nm lasers is already a lot smaller than the diameter of the sticker hole.

That is correct ;) also i believe only PL style lasers have a sticker with a too tight aperature hole. Makes for a good dot though :p

Holy cow 1.2W 650nm. I seriously can't wait for mine to show up. Its probably almost here by now.

It works only with the thick beam of the 660nm diode. The diameter of the beam is as big as the hole on the front. This mod doesn't work with the thin beam of the DPSS green.

With the 5x BE the laser should have a god-like low divergence. :)

That is a nice comparison. Your color of the 520nm looks much better. I am a noob on photography.

Guys, please get your 520nm's onto spectros. Wanna see the actual wavelength :)

Shouldn't be a problem to ask at a nearby univercity!

For those who got the free 450nm penlaser, the HL diffraction caps can be screwed on. The penlaser has the same threads as the HL host for the caps.

I am going to find someone too with a spectrometer. Not only the 520nm lasers need to be measured but also the "460" penlasers.
