Not if you live in the US and want to buy a laser. Also not for the millions of people living in restricted third world countries. Basically, just because the issue isn't apparent to us lucky ones, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
How is bitcoin going to help anyone buy a laser, unless DX and others start accepting it ? Not sure if paypal is even the primary factor, they are illegal to ship to the USA period no matter how you pay for them, right ?
Concept seems workable, I however feel no guilt at all for having it better than the average Kenyan or Haitian ect. They don't care about me, I don't care about them, this angle about empowering those from the gutter is a sham - If anything, it'll just open up another avenue for them to scam ,, ie, if you send your bitcoins to Nigeria hoping to get something in return, you might just as well donate them to charity first.

Perhaps a bit off-topic, but I think it would be cool if your website had more details about the specs of your lasers, particularly the beam divergence and diameter. Just a suggestion.
