Arctic species under threat !

global warming:
The greatest hoax ever or key to controlling the population and establishing the NWO? You decide:whistle:

From my understanding of how the Earth works, the climate cools and warms up on it's own.
There have been many mass extinctions since "life" came to be on this planet.

It may be sad to lose the creatures that are familiar to us, but it makes way for new ones to take their place.

"Global Warming," as far as I'm concerned, is just part of Earth's history.
There will be no "end of the world." Just the end of us and what is familiar to us.
It is inevitable, whether we contribute to it or not.

lol seeing the title i thought this was another spoof video on the WL arctic :yabbem:

As long as the creature isn't me...:crackup:

Global warming has been sped up by the Crap that humans
put into the air...:cryyy:

Loooong ago, the spot I'm sitting was covered in ice. Then mankind did something to drive it away. Too many campfires I presume. It was them who started the warming, them who didn't consider the future, them who didn't leave us instructions on how to call the ice back and we can't stop what they started.
It's all OUR fault......

I love this argument.

My 2 cents is...

How long can you live sucking on an autos exhaust pipe? Times that by how many people have cars in your family. Then times that by how many families in a city. Then times that by how many cities, and towns in a state. Ect, ect, ect. That figure is about a 100th of the pollution that industry puts into the atmosphere. There is no way that it cant effect the planet. And we are not even talking about cutting trees (the Earths lungs), and chit being poured down Earths throat every day. Poisoning the food we eat, and water we drink. If you truly think global warming is a scam, then you are not that bright. The industrial revolution was not that long ago, and you can clearly see the impact its having on the environment in such a short time. Yes the Earth naturally does this, but it takes millions of years, not DECADES.

There is NO negative in helping to slow our impact on the planet. If you are not helping, then you are part of the problem.

I have a friend that's into solar energy big time TJ, he talks about it all the time. Yesterday when I went on one of my weekly runs he was telling me about some huge windmill in the ocean that powers an entire city. I was telling him about some laser kits I had coming in the mail soon with the same enthusiasm he had, then later we shot some pool.

I agree, but I still think that it's nature running it's course.
Human beings, like all life, can only survive under certain conditions.
Unless we sprout gills and adapt to life underwater, or learn to live on the by-products of industry, adaptation will only get us so far so fast...
In another thread, I believe it was Daguin that brought up the blue algae, who poisoned their own atmosphere, which made the planet habitable for ultimately us.

Sure, it's sad that the poor walrus must pay the price for our "intelligence," but in the big scheme of things, the Earth will soon forget we existed.
Yes, it will take millions of years before our bodies become fossil fuels for another life-form, but the Earth has been around for billions of years, and surely will be around much, much longer than that.

The human lifetime is insignificant in comparison to the lifetime of this planet. It is arrogant of us (our entire species) to think that changing the weather is a big deal.
In our short lifetime the damages seem significant, but our existence will be only a few moments from the perspective of a planet that has been around for an immense amount of time.
We'll be "Darwined" out one day. I completely agree that it is a good idea to try to keep our environment healthy, but it will only prolong the inevitable.

I think that those that don't really care about the environment lack the basic instinct of self-preservation. It seems that most of "us" are unwilling to do anything about it. To me, that proves that we've lost touch with the instinctual desire to survive. Extinction is the consequence we'll have to pay for poisoning our habitat as if we are a parasite - and good riddance. The more I think about it, the more I see that humans are the only species on the planet that does not have a symbiotic relationship with it.

P.S. I, for one, wouldn't mind a warmer climate. I'd love to see the dinosaurs come back. :D

We are already in the middle of a great extinction event. They have happened before. They will probably happen again. Man did not start this one, but he is helping it along.

We have over-populated and over-run the planet. We have accelerated a natural process by our shear numbers (which is what drove industrialization). This is nature's way of balancing the equation ;)

She will either find a way to reduce our numbers (and our machines along with that) or we will disappear along with the other species that have gone and will go during this great extinction event.

It may take her 50,000 years, but that is a tick of the clock to her

Peace,
dave

99% of everything that ever lived is Extinct! The Earth will shake Humans off like a bad case of Fleas. The Planet will be just fine after Were gone.

Remember, that by burning fossil fuels you are simply re-releasing the trapped carbon from many billions of years ago.

Yes, the carbon did exist all those years ago, in prehistoric times. They have since been trapped in the fossil fuels in the ground, and removed from the carbon cycle.

By burning fossil fuels, you're releasing that carbon again.

Sure, it was on Earth beforehand, so it can't be bad. But billions of years ago, the Earth was a hostile place. Hardly any atmosphere, and much warmer than what we know it as.

By releasing that carbon, you're simply restoring the state of the carbon cycle back to what it was so many years ago.

Global Warming isn't the best way to describe it, rather, it's more accurately known as climate change.

Some places are getting colder, others are getting hotter. Sometimes these changes are for better, other times for the worst.

Yes, it was man that created the warming of our planet ........J/K

However there is no doubt that mankind's activity has influenced the environment.

The earth has been much warmer in the past with higher CO2 levels and the planet didn't turn into an uninhabitable wasteland. Back when the dinosaurs were around the planet was a lush jungle. CO2 levels were MUCH higher then.

The main difference in the past has been that climate change was a very SLOW process. That gave animals a chance to adapt to the new ice ages and thawing periods.

Right now we're basically contributing to an already existing warming cycle. The amount we're contributing is largely debatable. The question is whether we should do terrible damage to the economy and greatly alter our way of life in order to slow down what may be an inevitable warming trend.

Right now I'd say that we have bigger concerns than climate change. After getting our country back on track, getting out of the middle east and solving other important issues maybe THEN we can worry about climate change. In any event anything we do is almost pointless unless we can get the global population in check somehow. Even if we reduce CO2 emissions per person by 33% by 2050 it won't do a bit a good if the planet has 10 billion people or more by then. Also all of the people in china and India who previously couldn't have cars or electricity are gonna want to start living the good life now and they'll negate anything we try to change.

It sucks to say this, but nothing would do the planet more good than having another great plague or something wipe out like 80% of the population. We've plain and simply exceeded the planets carrying capacity for our species. 6 billion+ people simply cannot all have the luxuries in life. It's not sustainable. It's basically what happens when you let deer overpopulate an area because you've wiped out all of their natural predators. If there was a more reasonable amount of us like say 500 million then overall quality of life would go way up, there would be much less pollution, deforestation and the general devastation of the planet would largely stop.

TLDR version: As long as the overpopulation problem exists there isn't much of a point in trying to do something about climate change. We'll simply degrade our quality of life while the people in china and india start getting their cars and big TV's.

Man, you have a very serious case of throath inflammation there ..... take a good cough syrup and a cold drink, and if those flames happens again when you cough, please get a doctor help ..... :wtf:

Uhm, i'm wondering how you can have the video of the test of my last "salute for the new year" firecracker ..... it's supposed to be reserved material .....

(J/K :p )

EDIT: @Razako

The main thing we have to considrate, about earth warming, is the medium global value, not the local values ..... some local 10 or 15 degrees variations can cause storms, tornadoes, or ice growth in some zones, but if the global medium value rise over 2 C , the life can start to become really difficult, and over 5 C, it can become almost impossible .....so, ok, we're not in hurry (yet) maybe, but better start to think about it, before it's too late .....

After all, is much more easy to heat a planet, than to cool it ..... :p :D
