Hello LPF'ers!!!!!
Well, over spring break I had the opportunity to make a couple of lasers, which was great because it gave me a chance to keep practicing and it allowed me to fill in some wavelengths.
For this build I used:
1 x Black Unmarked C6 Host via Cajunlasers
1 x Black Anodized Heatsink via Cajunlasers
1 x Black Focus Adapter via Cajunlasers
1 x Low Divergence, Single Mode 300mW 650nm Diode via DTR
1 x 17mm Round Linear Driver @ 378mA via Mohrenberg
2 x AW 18350 Batteries via Someone at CPF
This is actually the best I think I have done on any build so far. Having used my new Soldering Iron for a bit, I am starting to feel very confident. I made sure to Heatshrink every connection, the driver board did not get burnt to hell like ones I have had in the past(fine tips are the bomb(dot)com!), and I even used Thermal Paste between the heatsink and the Host for any and all heat dissipation needs....although at only 378mA I am not too worried.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the final product, unfortunately I never think to take pictures while building the laser and once I get it build I am afraid to take it apart again lol.
PICS:
In the pictures the minor scratches on the host seeem pretty obvious, but in person it looks extremely clean and blacked out. Even though this is not an intensely powerful build I am pretty proud of it and am glad to have it as my 650nm representative in my collection.
Thanks,
Isaac
