Yeah it's pretty incredible how stable it is...

And for over 5 minutes!

You say it isn't even warm after 5 minutes?

It gets warm(nothing like my 1.6W 18650 after one minute) after one minute but it did not seem to get any warmer during the rest of the 5 minute test. It is moving heat very efficiently.

Excellent work by Jay and yourself...
Damn that thing is big... and what a stable output..:gj:

It only dropped 100mW over 5 minutes from internal
heating.. That shows how well the mass of Heat Sink
and host keeps the 445nm LD cooled..

I really like the way you test the assembly and electronics
every step of the way during your build... That is the way
it is done... rather than assembling it all and subjecting it
to the dreaded Smoke Test..:beer:

That is a very impressive build!!!! I love the huge heat sink and the massive power supply. You could keep her going for a while lol

1.8w that is so wild to think about. That is 360 times more powerful than a laser pointer wow. That must be unbelievable.

I'm jealous. lol

I actually plan on when I get another P3 to update this thread with more info on how to set it up. I plan to show how to wire it in an always on state with the interlock, adding the LM3805 for the modulation input so that it is at max always, how to disable the 7 second delayed start up, setting the current and the process of moving the driver heatsink and attaching it to the host sink.

This is the most difficult and time consuming part of this build. And I have had a few PM's about it.

I have had many requests to purchase this unit today. Some with just insane offers. But I am going to keep this one for sentimental reasons. If I do another it may be a different story. It is not always about the money.
