  • Not DIY unless you buy the module and mount it into a host...

Check with scopeguy20 for CNI group buy...
me again ;) is there anyway to do a DIY 589nm build? thats my fav wavelength and would really want it done, but i cant seem to find that wavelength anywhere :( help??
Hey, Just got you message that you shipped my SS Host I cant wait till it comes in Thanks for that update

    ThanXXX :)
hi jayrob, ive been coming to this site for about 2 weeks now, and just signed up so i could buy a kit from you :) im kinda a noob at DIY lasers, but im a proud owner of a few Laserglow lasers, so not a noob in that regard ;) i was looking at your different kits, and really like the MXDL 4171 host/heatsink. would you be able to fit a big enough driver and heatsink in there to run a 445 1W diode?? if not, what host/heatsink and/or diode would you recommend for me?? thx :)
Welcome to LPF! Good starting point to go with a PHR build...

The Key Chain CR2 kit that you linked is a really cool little kit, but quite honestly, it is not really a beginner build. If you have good mechanical aptitude, then you will succeed. But it is a 'tight' build...

The driver you linked is a good driver. But for that driver with a blu-ray diode, you will want a host that can supply 9 volts at least.

That's what you need to consider when choosing a host/driver. The battery supply needed.

The small kits that only take a single battery, must use a boost driver. The V5 FlexDrive, or the Micro BoostDrive:

I was thinking of buying an AiXiz module with a PHR-803T HD DIODE removed from sled 405nm !!! HIGH POWER !! [PHR803T_single] - $19.49 : StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store diode from StoneTek.

I don't know if I should use this Surface Mount FULL RANGE ADJUSTABLE Laser Driver pre-assembled [Stonetek_RKCSTR_FULL_RANGE] - $18.99 : StoneTek Electronics, Your Laser Parts Store driver.

With these components, will I be able to assemble a working laser? Am I missing anything? Should I go with a preassembled laser from Wicked lasers?
Sorry... I don't know for sure. I have not had one. You can go to their site and send a message to find out...
i was curious, do you know if the wl sonars take RCR123a ? or just regular cr123a?
