  • I just recently bought the Solarforce L2P. I am curious on what I need to convert it to one of your product. I am very new to this whole laser thing so I don't much. But if you can tell me where I can order the stuff that I need to build my first one I'll appreciate it. Thanks.. please reply to my email at nickyrr78@gmail.com thanks again
    It was fancy enough in it's day, but old school now...

    I have a C8 telescope, a couple of camera bodies and other lenses, and all the attachments and stuff...

    Astro photography is a very tricky type of photography. There is a lot to learning. Because the objects are photographically very faint and require long exposure times. The problem is, the earth is moving, so you mount has to be aligned with the earth's polar axis, and have motors that compensate for the earth's movement.

    There is also movement due to other things such as the shape of the atmosphere. As your subject rises during the exposure, the light from it bends differently as it rises in the night sky.

    So you must make adjustments during exposure. This is using a 'guiding eyepiece'. You see movement before your camera will show the movement. So you can adjust the motors with a remote. Your guiding eye piece has double cross hairs (illuminated). You have it focused on a near by star so that you can see how to adjust...
    Jayrob, how do you take some of your pictures of space? Is it a cheap setup? Or do you have a ton of fancy equipment to use?
    Dear Jayrob, I'm a sad ex user of Wicked Lasers. I think U know very well the history of the Arctic fiasco. I'm not new in the world of the lasers. I already have buyed a 300 mW fixed focus green laser from Brazil and a 700 mW green focusable laser from Yagoo. I wish to build a new one, like this:
    YouTube - DIY: How To Build A 1W Burning Blue Laser Torch!
    Can You supply me all the components in order to assembly this?
    I need very good components, and a step-by-step istructions how to mount this. I'm from Italy, and I can use Paypal.
    Keep the good work.

    Richard.
    Hi Jayrob i have seen quite a few of your builds and to say professional would be an under statement! unfortunately for me a couple of months back i ordered an Arctic 111 and like most others at the time not knowing of their build quality as i wouldnt have paid for it , it still hasnt turned up . In the past i have purchased a few laser pointers from 50 mw to 150 uv which i built myself so i have a limited knowledge of what to do but what has caught my eye is the 1.6 mw ss 18650 built by DTR . Im interested in weather you could supply me with all i would need to make that exact build including all electronic componants if so could you pm me with a price .
    Many Thanks
    Dave..
    Hi im a new member, I live in the uk and am becoming more and more interested in home built lasers!! I started ordering bits before I really knew what I needed, and as such have a Aurora C6 Cree P4 LED Flashlight on order to mod. Didnt realise i needed your heatsink until I started reading in more detail... Have also ordered a 100mw 405nm violet laser diode, a constant current laser diode driver 80-500ma, and an aixiz module for a 5.6mm diode. Any advice you can offer me will be appreciated. Thanks
    Im a new member, need order info for star trek laser parts, all but diode. cant find price and order link.

    First, you have to get a lot of safety glasses for the class! Read up on proper eye protection for this wavelength...

    That said, most people are setting them at 1 Amp. At this current, you will have about 1 Watt using a 405-G-1, or about 875mW's with an AixiZ 445 lens.

    Either way, it will burn good at that power...
    We're trying to make a demo to get High School students excited about engineering and we would like something that is not only bright but can cut/melt through abs plastic. With that in mind which lens and what current (using this diode 5.6mm 445nm ~1W laser diode [445nm] - $54.99 : Modwerx Shop) would you recommend?
    Is this build possible?
    *SS 18650 basic kit
    * Add 'Hot' option
    * Copper heatsink upgrade
    * Knurled EzFocus adapter
    * AixiZ module - $5
    * 1/2" Custom Copper Module - $25
    * 405-G-1 glass lens assembly - $55
    * with this diode 5.6mm 445nm ~1W laser diode [445nm] - $54.99 : Modwerx Shop
    * and this battery AW 18650 Protected 2600 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery - New Version
