Gabe, nice shots man but I find it very hard to view them properly even if I reduce my browser down to 50%.
I really need to go down to 25% and then it makes it impossible to read.
The images are huge at 6000 x 4000 pix.
If you can reduce them for us, it would really be make it so much easier for us to view.

Yes Pete, it's the same one.
It's always looking for a feed and now its coat has turned speckled white/grey with the black spots.
Just gorgeous !

:D
I knew it but through me off a bit by going a little grey:) Little:evil: is still getting all chow and right smack in the middle of things!

WillM: love the water fall which looks like molten lead:beer:

Gabe: great bottle shatter pic but the Coca Cola collector's aren't going to be too happy!

As this is a pic thread and I can't or don't know how to post pic's "I'm 54 and way late to the high tech stuff":( I need help or have at least one question to start,
I only have a 3G flip phone by my choosing for its simplicity. Do I need to upgrade to even have a chance?

You should be able to get nice photos from the flip phone, I assume.
Do you need help in resizing and attaching the image to here?
You can upload your photo to an online service like
Crop and Resize Images Online
Here you can resize you image to anything you want, the forum standard is 800x600 pixels.
Then you attach it to your post using the "Manage Attachment" tool below when you post a reply, you can attach up to 8 pics.
Click 'Browse' and navigate to the directory that your image is saved in.
Click on the image file then click 'upload'.
See my attached pic.

Hope that helps my friend.

All Valve / dekatron based frequency counter from 1951 .

Wow what a beautiful image.
You can't beat that nostalgic electronics look of yesteryear.
Thanks for sharing.

Oh sorry, I have a Nikon D3200, you got your wife an excellent camera :) Once the user can figure out all the features of the camera and how to use them, they can take excellent photos. It's all about knowing your camera and knowing your subject!

Just to add a bit here...
Don't skimp on the glass (lens)! If you use a cheap lens, it'll make an expensive camera useless!

Hi RB, it actually takes good pic's for a cheapie. It picks up even the lowest powered 405's in a lit room. Seams to have decent app's but can't get into them as for an example when I try to Email one it say's "Account no Configured".
On top of this is I don't know my way around my laptop or computer "talk". Ok it helps that they are pretty user friendly but still i'm bad.
There's a college right down the street that offer's something like a 7 week course but getting older and having some heavy ADD that wasn't diagnosed in our time doesn't help:yabbem:
This info helped a ton but as i'm hogging an awesome "Pic Thread" i'll send you a PM bud.:)

Amazing shots Gabe! You may advocate yourself as an amateur photographer but from my perspective these are very professional :D My favorites are the high speed coffee shots ;)

You've inspired me to try some high speed photography Gabe! So here's my attempt :p f/1.8, 1/4000 shutter speed, ISO 200, 4.42mm FL. Click for high res

Thank you will! You're already off to a great start, the focus is usually quite hard to nail when you're capturing water but you got it dead on.

Haha thanks GSS, I'll try to keep this hidden from them, but at least it was a new bottle, nothing antique :)
As for your phone, do you need to upgrade to have a chance in what? I don't know what you'd be using your phone for, I've still seen a few people in this day and age with flip phones getting by just fine because it's all that they need, however I wouldn't be able to because I also use my phone for learning and entertainment if I have nothing to do.

Just to add a bit here...

True that! The kit lens that you get with the camera is actually a great piece of glass: quite sharp, solid build, useful focal length range. But it doesn't have a very fast minimum aperture, I think f3.6 at best, so I want to pick up a good wide angle wide aperture lens, as well as a good telephoto lens next time I have the money. Speaking of money, anybody wanna buy a 150+mW 473? ;)

Gabe, and I came close to calling the Coca Cola police:whistle: "my i'm so so corny"
I meant if being its a cheaper 3G flip phone if I have a chance to post pic's. It's all I really need. I can't get over how just being in a waiting room, everyone from 5 to 100 years old are tapping away at their phones with those little stick's like their on a mission. No care or idea what's around them:thinking: Not all people can be that busy. Its getting to a real unsocial world, not to who they might be texting to but personally next to someone.
Oh well that me though. Gabe there was a time when we had rotary phone's:eek: Maby your great great grand parents told you about those olden days:)

I used a rotary phone and I'm 36...

I don't use one, but I still like them ... maybe nostalgia, my aunt used to have one when I was younger and I remember using that. I'm 23 in 2 days.

You can still dial by clicking the hook on the phone in a lot of places. Still works here so I could still use a rotary phone if I had a landline... :D

Right you lot. You've all been taking such good pics lately that you've forced me to dig the camera out and show you all who's boss :crackup:

Here are a few top picks from today.

The day started not far from home with a moody shot of Beinn Mhor mountain:

Beinn%20Mhor_zps8lts6ozc.jpg

Then I drove a bit and took this pic just outside a tiny village called Strachur:

Strachur_zpsebgjujnt.jpg

Then took this on Loch Eck:

Caned it up the twisties and then stopped in another wee village called Tighnabruaich (tin a broo ich):

Stopped at this viewpoint on the way. If I done my geography right, this area of sea is called Loch Riddon:

loch%20riddon_zpsafxvp3ho.jpg

Back down to ground level and caught this scenic shot of Loch Tarsan on the way back:

loch%20tarsan_zpst45ntwvn.jpg

Oh dam ... ;) nearly forgot this one:

All in all I'm delighted I got up early... and covered 120 miles in the process. Trust me, you don't want to see the state of the car after all those miles...
