Rick...THANX for being the FIRST to post about these beauties !!!!!!!!!!
And taking the Risk to push them hard !!!!!

MMMMMmmmmmm.....when/if the price drops....Beam's Crystal Ball see's a change-out in the Tridentis.....3 x 6 = 18 W..Com'on !!! That way lies Madness !

6w could be safe will have to do more testing .I was getting 6w at around 3.9A in the video took it to 4.35A got 6.39W and driver got hot. may have gone higher will have to do more testing

I'd say a test at 3.9A *might* be a good idea to see how the diode performs at that current. Give the laser 3.9A for 20-30 seconds and see what the results are. I think the diode should be able to handle that current safely for a little while at least- I hope :$

Until we have a power vs current graph of to determine efficiency and find the knee of the diode a safe current can't be assumed.;)

I would say your already into diminishing returns there.

Yeah it's too early to tell what a safe op current is near the high end, but deducing from the original test Rick did, I would bet 3.15 is safe(producing around 5W). Of course I do hope we can get 6W out of these safely, but 3.9A *might* be a little too high for a single 9mm; we do not know yet. I would love to see ARG test these diodes, but after testing the 1w 520, there really isn't any interest in the 3.5w diodes, which is unfortunate, because a safe 5w+ 445 out of a single diode is a slightly more impressive to me than a 9mm running @ 2.5A producing 1.4w of 520. ( many people will disagree though :D)

If you can do some testing @ 100mA intervals with cool down between each reading that would be awesome. Even if you just start near datasheet max to make it simple that would give some very useful info.
