Anyone interested in buying 510nm green laser diodes?

If I bought a 510nm green diode I would expect a 510nm green diode.

And yes, I would be very unhappy If i bought a 510nm green diode and it was infact not a 510nm green diode.

I bought a "120mW 638nm diode" and it is not 638nm so I disputed it because the seller either LIED to me or did not know what he was selling, and advertised it as something it wasn't...

I would be happy with another new green wavelength.

The green diodes available now are 500nm and 510nm. I expect a price quote during beginning of the next week.

Let us see who gets the better price :eg:

The only company I know who sells now 510nm diodes, is PicoQuant

I think Nichia not commercialized this diodes yet, but I can be wrong.

In his catalog of course is not listed this diode.

What jake said...if these are sold as 510nm....i'd expect 510nm.
Obviously ANY green standalone diode is fantastic, but you expect to get what you pay for, in my eyes anyway.

Precisely. Also, what if it was a 532nm diode? It would be a green wavelength that lases, and at 50mW, I would NOT pay $250 just for the diode +$50 to put it in a handheld=$300 for a 50mW 532. No thanks.

Ditto, after those 638's I would like a member to check if these are what they are said to be.

I've been waiting for these for a long time.
I am interested but would like more info.
A data sheet would be great and a thorough review in addition would be even better.

There are several companies working on green diodes in the 510-520nm range and Soraa has apparently been able to exceed 100mW, so for now I think that it would be best not to act too impulsively.

Just like the last guy with 515nm diodes or lasers on amazon. I don't believe any of it, including this thread until it is proven.

He has/had some sort of affiliation with CNI. I didn't have any reason not to trust him (he has done good business on the forum before) but the pre-order was too early.

He stated that 50mW 510nm diodes would be on the market by early August. That is apparently exactly what we are seeing here.
Soon, CNI will probably be selling some ~50mW 510nm pointers.

I do not doubt that the diodes are real. The uncertainty here is whether or not they are attainable at this point.

Has their even been one provable non photoshopped beamshot or dot shot of a 500-515nm dioide based laser? I don't think there is and I find this a bit unnerving. We should have some solid proof these diodes even emit light by now shouldn't we? This all goes back to the attainable factor. Maybe they're harder to get for people even those who have good connections?

Okay, but what was he selling? 50mW 515's for $299? Just something I couldn't believe.

It was 510nm. Essentially the same thing offered here.
Why is that so unbelievable?

Anyway, we'll just have to wait patiently for some data.
Personally, I'd rather wait for the Soraa >100mW variant. Hopefully we see them on the market soon.
50mW is still pretty cool.

I just didn't think 50mW 510nm's would come out at $299, that was my doubts^^^

Wow, I'm sort of surprised at this perspective (those were just two of many comments to the same effect).

We know that NONE of the green diodes in production are 532, so that's right off the table.

The green diode wavelengths that this could be (if it is anything at all) are 505, 510, 515.

If I bought these as 510, and got 505, I would be thrilled. If I got 515, thrilled. It's a new diode wavelength that none of us has experience in this format before, no matter how you slice it. Why would you nit pick over a small plus/minus just because of the principal that "I paid for a 510" ?

If I paid for a 510nm diode, and got a GREEN diode, I would be happy :)

you will prolly need a middleman- being brand new here most may be a tad leery sending money .

no offence intended- Ped would be a good middle. a data sheet is also needed.
