If you have the same copy I had, you won't be able to install x64 from it, just so you know. However I have Win 7 RTM build 7600 downloaded onto a DVD already with the x86/x64 installer on one DVD.

it uses 16 gb for 32 bit and 20 gb for 64
Did he do a fresh install? That might be it. The problem was when I tried to upgrade from vista, it said I had x86 (I had x64) and it wouldn't let me install x64. So a clean install would probably work then. Not the same copy then, my friend already installed 64 bit on his machine and it's blazing fast.

3) Windows 7 is hands down the BEST OS by MS to date. It totally blows Vista & XP under the table with it's lightning fast boot times, speed, driver installations and security features.
I have to disagree. XP is known, good, operating system that people have been using and loving for years. WIndows 7, well, Microsoft could have a feature in there, that at the end of the beta, it will lock your computer or something, or it may have a severe case of winrot after a few months.
I think I'll be sticking to XP for a few more years yet, until I can know for sure I won't loose everything ....
I'm kinda surprised. I'm using windows vista 64 bits actually and I've never had a single problem.
Could someone list some of these problems and bugs that makes vista so bad?
Well, i'm running it on a 2200$ dell laptop with 8GB Ram etc etc, maybe this explains why it runs smooth for me. But about the bugs etc, I've never had a single problem!
the SSD will boost every system lol xD
