You have many wonderful lasers in your list but all you talk about is Wicked. From other posts I have read from you it looks like they know you by name so to speak. It would be safe to say you are the largest biased member on this forum.

What I'm understanding from this thread its ok to accept the lies and misinformation on their website? I would never buy from a retailer that openly lies like that. I dont care how good the product is. How people can recommend such a company eludes my good nature. You continue to support them even after you found the lasers dont have the promised IR filters just because they sent you a trinket to pacify you? One member never even got the promised trinket. That is not customer service. That is poor quality control. Nothing more. Looking at the splash, out of focus and skewed beams I see more poor quality control. But all that is ok? I dont understand this. It diminishes your creditability considerably. All I see is con man selling over priced low quality lasers. Jetlasers is by far a better alternative if you want to buy retail.

-Website full of lies and misinformation.
-Overpriced for the quality.
-Shipping errors.
-Low quality control.

I dont see anything that has changed from the old information I have read on this forum. I did notice an older anti Wicked thread was deleted because of legal issues. That means Wicked threatened to sue this forum for posting real issues with their products.

We can add to list.

-Corporate intimidation for all things anti Wicked.

Please explain to me again why I should do business with this company? Or why recommend a company that threatened to sue the very forum we love? :thinking:

I missed the part about the IR filters so you can disregard most of that. But they did make you fix it yourself so meh. The rest holds true though.

Maybe his disapproval for WL is 100% justified, maybe he has a secret hate for sausage paste (not many will understand that) or maybe he was having a bad day.

Sharp words depending on interpretation... but still, if he likes WL what's wrong? It's not your business to correct his ways of living, after all. And I have yet to find anything not trustworthy about Smeer. It's definitely possible to remain objective even though you have personal lean one way or another... difficult but certainly doable. I'm quite familiar with WL and I have quite a few WL products, but I'm not really a fan of them nor do I advocate buying their products- again, there are much better deals out there. If you don't think it's a good deal then don't buy it, simple

Anyway... the new Torch looks like a much-needed upgrade. Any idea if they'll accept a trade-in for the old Torch Smeer?

Since when is fanboy a derogatory term? I'm a fanboy of many things.

He posts on every Wicked thread. The company knows his name. They send him free stuff all the time and he collects Wicked products. He is clearly one of the biggest Wicked fans on the forum. Being a fan makes you biased. You cant get around it.

I found this forum looking up Wicked. Quick search and I found the 33 reasons not to buy from Wicked. If anyone has a better guess I'm all ears.

Having two of these on route to me.

Nice addition to a flashlight collection where lasers took over at a point.

Looking at the host, I have a feeling that they get hot very fast..

Not sure on the host myself yet, untill i have one in my hands.
But from this picture, it looks good to me Not too big or small either.

Not sure how long you can leave it on, but my guess is that it will be close if not the same as the old torch.

Not sure how hot it will get with this new design aswell but....
The torch is suppose to be hot from previous version ^^

All i'm wondering is if the throwspot is better compared to the older version.
Maybe the reflector is put in further away wich would give it a nice long distance throw.... who knows.

My question is why WL claims to have the brightest flashlight in the world but doesn't put actual specs out on it; lux, lumen, etc.... Also why are they using prehistoric technology and not stepping into the world of LEDs?

As far as run time, some comments on the page were questioning this and iirc they originally said 10-20 min and WL response was something like yeah we are working on it but we suggest you have 3-4 charged batteries at all times.

Aren't the spare batteries like $75/ea?????? Oh sure let me by a $200 flahlight and then spend $300 on spare batteries. Makes perfect sense to me, how about everyone else? Or genius thinking out of the box over here, buy a Supbeam K40 AND a Fenix TK61 and still have $100 left over for you to spend however you please

IMO WL has amassed a large following who are "sheltered" into thinking and believing believing everything WL says. They don't do research and thus are similar to iPhone followers, something new, MUST HAVE even though its the same as the last generation.......

WL takes advantage of this just like Apple does. Its not illegal but IMO its unethical. Since WL fans believe the hype they also don't receive laser safety tips since you guessed it, WL doesn't care about anything other than money. Plus they are sheltered over in China and trying to bring a lawsuit up against them is not worth the time or money.

In the end WL supporters can eat their hearts out and spend too much money for under performing items but they are happy so let them. Only means more quality items left in the world for me. If sausage spread wants to use WL then let him, he has been around long enough to know the pros and cons of WL so he can choose. Who knows maybe its easy for WL to ship to his country and not as easy to get parts?

Well then again, how high is Apple's profit margins? It's rather ridiculous... yet there are still plenty of Apple fans out there. It makes sense for a company to follow such a profitable strategy, and WL definitely seems to be successful so far

The WL webpage states 10-40 min battery life... so probably 10 min or less on max, although duty cycle might be like 3 min on 5 min off

And who knows... WL seems to be pretty good at getting their stuff through customs...
