Why did my GGW-H20L fry?

Dont get your panties in a bunch. Ppl make mistakes and do things to get alot of shit for it. Now this is where you choose your path. Either you start talking shit and take it to the next level and end up getting banned or just laugh about like we were and move on. You have to take alot of things said here with a grain of salt. My first 2 days I managed to get in a arguement with a few of the vets. I quickly realised that in order to survive here I had to shut my mouth and swallow my pride (no matter how right I thought I was).

On topic:

Sorry to hear about your poor fortune, but all of us have destroyed diodes and components at some point (some intentionally).

Read. Learn. Practice.

I didn't really expect to transplant my first diode successfully, however I just made a second attempt and it worked. I'll admit to a steep learning curve, these diodes are a lot more sensitive than what I'm used to.

And earlier, I was actually trying to be funny (not offensive), maybe I forgot to use enough smiley faces... :) :) :)

I'd share some more of my "objectionable" projects, but I think you guys wouldn't take kindly to most of them. Especially my bungee cord squirrel launcher on my porch, it cracks my friends up though.

See thats the stuff that sets ppl off, if you already know ppl here 'wont take kindly to most of them' then dont bring it up in the first place. im not sure if you were joking about the squirrels but i hope so, either way i dont care but others mite...

This seems a lot like the old saying " buy them books and they only eat the pages"

Not sure if anyone brought this up about using a dremel for removing a diode from sled. Any laser diode has a temperature that cannot be exceeded or the diode is destroyed. Similarly, too much g-force (e.g. snipping too had near the diode) can ruin it too. It does take a little TLC and practice to remove them. I learned a long time ago about the heat created with a dremel cutting disk and green & red lasers and module de-construction....FYI
