That's what you get when you spend more than 10 grand on a MAC....LOL

Amazing specs....sounds to good to be true, but I believe you. :)

Actually it was under 5K, Apple refurb and RAM from elsewhere. I buy a system once every 7-8 years so I get something nice when I do. I just bought it about 4 months ago.

MacPro $3299 (Apple.com under refurbished, they still have them)
Samsung Monitors $450 (ebay specials)
Hard Drives (added) $350 (1.5 gb HD's)
RAM $600 (4 - 4gb sticks and 2 more 1gb sticks on top of the 2 gb factory)

And yes, the same graphics card on the PC will eat me for lunch (more games and better programmers for video cards). But I PLAY with video, photoshop and stuff so I like the power for video.
Besides all my friends are geeks, I got them all started on computers and IT jobs so I have to keep up a little even though by trade I'm a locksmith.

Around/under 5k is still a lot of money, but if it suites your purposes, then it's worth it. :)

Definitely true on the gaming aspect, but for video editing, you would definitely blow me out of the water and if that's your thing, you went in the right direction. :)

I don't think PC/Mac/Linux really count as game systems as they are computers that happen to play games. Whereas a PS3, XBOX, Wii are game systems that happen to do other stuff. However, PC still wins out in my opinion because PC's can be upgraded, game systems can't.

This is blasphemy!

I never said they can't play games well! I preffer gaming on my laptop. I just wouldn't consider a computer a "Gaming System". And... cmon know, Linux? Mac? They can play all of like two games. You need a Windows emulator to play anything good lol.

Why so sucky GPU when everything else rocks?

Not the top of the line, but still one of the fastest for the mac even though only .5 gb. Besides, it came with the computer.

Nice thing about PC/Mac/Linux as opposed to a dedicated console is you can emulate a lot of other Platforms also and run games made for those platforms.

Would have to agree PC for the win : )
2 monitors also FTW
oh and 2x raptor drives in raid 0

I prefer a PC - easier to upgrade, you can do other things on it if you have to wait in your game, easier to create mods and custom stuff, huge number of games and the one that means most to me - high precision using a mouse to aim. No console controller is as easy, precise and natural to aim with as a mouse.

What niko said. There are far more games for PC than all other platforms combined. PCs are also customizable, and can do much more than play games.
