What every laser seller needs!

I'm sorry to anyone who this may offend.

I have seen too many threads where a laser "may" have been tapered with and broken as a result "regaurdless" of poor workmanship. I really think that if you fully intend to sell "fully functional lasers" then you should use ANTI TAMPER STICKERS!.

Come on guys. If you are selling fully functional equipment that people may be tempted to tamper with then PLEASE protect it! It's really sad to see two people fighting over who "may" have broke a laser.

In my honest opinion if YOU sell a member something and it arrives broken then YOU should replace it. I know I would...

Now I know there are drawbacks with the stickers but its better than Loctite and DEFIANTLY better than fighting who pays the return shipping. Hell you can even offer a warranty and tell the user they "You may remove the sticker after two weeks"

i like using tamper glue.
You can tell if the glue has been cracked to get things apart.
just put some drops on places they should not be and put it together and let dry. if they open it glue breaks.
waterproof too btw.

Good thinking +1 rep! I don't think it matters what you use but I really think people should use some sort of method of "anti tamper" especially if you are going to offer to sell lasers.

Though it would be great if you could see the "anti tamper" attempt. If I bought a laser with the intent to tamper with it for whatever gain.... I would be less likely to do so if i was sure I couldn't get away with it.

A sticker and tamper glue is good too! (double screwed!)

Well a kit is different. Some people cant solder and there are some very generous people on here. Though the consequences outweigh the generosity sometimes. (Which is why I made this thread)

also all sellers should use thermal glues when putting things together.
The lasers are not to be taken apart anyway.
This is a definite for a few reason if your selling to a noob then make it as noob proof as possible.
Silicon heatsink glue is cheap and you dont need much. dont go artic silver on it but something.
the only time you dont use any thing is when its press fit.
But it should never ever be just a set screw.
And even then if it is just a set screw you should put locktight on it.
That way there is a zero chance of it coming lose.
Things like this should only have to be learned by one person.
its cheap and makes you look good.
Also buy heatshrink its cheap and it looks alot better than electrical tape.
Now heat shrink both pins by them selves then one more over both of them. this stops the wires from twisting and breaking the pins off.

You would be shocked to see some of the questions I've received about the mosquito modules. I had someone ask (about modules that were already running at 1,760ma:
"Is there a way I can solder on a pot, so that the power output will be higher by 50%, and will you guarantee the modules if so?"

Lol rhd "can I pot mod a 1750ma laser" all you laser sellers should tell your noobish buyers that the lasers are pot modded to,the max,lol. Its not like they can prove it isnt lol. After people just want the most and the best. But most of all humans just love feeling exclusive.


At jeff... Thats a good idea. Its one of those fixes that seem so simple but hasnt been done.

This won't work, unless everyone gets their own custom stickers made. Let's say you sell me a laser with this sticker. I receive it, break the seal and break the product. Whoops, now I just go here and order these stickers, make sure I clean off the old one real good and put this new one on. Bam, pwned.

Though I would like to point out that the link I posted was an example to show how inexpensive the stickers can be. I would actually strongly suggest sellers here either have custom stickers made or find stickers that are not commonly found.

Since you mentioned this I would also like to say that if someone is intending to tamper with a laser then nobody will stop them. My suggestion is to help curb the habit of tamppering. I can think of at least 3 members here who have had their lasers tampered with.

There will ALWAYS be brainless morons out there costing people money because of their stupidity. You can't really prevent people completely from tampering with an item but you can at LEAST make it difficult to hide it. In reality there will always be that ONE person who will take something apart, break it and then try to get their money back. I would like to try and help this forum get rid of some if not ALL of those people.

Remember if you don't try and combat a problem. The problem will not go away.

I would also like to mention this thread is based towards the bigger sellers here who build NEW lasers. It is not for people who are selling personal lasers. The problem with personal lasers will not be curved that easily.


PLEASE voice your opinions. I really think the forum needs them!
