The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

I can get the mirror polish on it.. that's not an issue.. I even include a thing of polish so you can continue to touch it up as it gets blemished, which it will. Hehe, you can ask jayrob, he's probably wondering what that stuff is! LOL.

Chrome plating aluminum is rather difficult, but not impossible.

Thanks for sharing Moebius!!! :) :) :)

This just shows me what one of the krytons I get will look like!!!

Furthermore, Jeff has impressive custom focus ring skills

You are definately right about that!!!

It would have to be copper plated first, no?

I wonder if you could use that sludge, dry it out and use the AL powder for fireworks? I don't know what mesh it would be at, but it might be a little extra fun, or way to recoup some of your funds you have had to pour into this.

Hmm very interesting. However a lot if it can be AL oxides as well. Fireworks grade powders are usually coated as far as i know. Maybe using this process with some kinda solvent would yield some useful aluminum dust.

That's great Ken because quite honestly, that polish is what drew me to the Kryton over a year ago when I first saw it.
Originally I wanted one in 532nm. And I still do.

I like sleek & polished.
That explains why I like Ehgemus's, Wannaburn's and DTR's hosts too.

I've only got 15 left to polish in the cones! We are plugging right along here! Then it's on to the slow process of the shells. 1 per day is rather slow, but I'd rather it be slow and polished well, than fast and having it crappy.

I will research and see if the shells are best done wet or dry.. I suspect dry.

I can anodize the barrel to match exactly if you wanna send your old one to me. I can even add an extra focus adapter... PM me and we'll work something out.

It's alright, my first one was a purple/black marble and I was ordering a blue/black marble to go with it. Would you be able to make the extra focus adapter for my purple/black marble?

Hey there Kenom....glad to hear that you are having such good progress after your trial and error!
I have ordered 2 of the un-anodized polished host, what kind of time frame are you thinking of for shipping ones like these with and without the engraving?
Thanks for ALL the EFFORT and TIME you have put into this project!:beer:

monday without... friday with.

I still have to sort out who gets engraved and who doesnt.

Also, I don't think this got answered in any earlier posts, but for the people who paid for the 445nm pressed-in diodes, is that happening? or will we get the money refunded for that?

Either way, I am fine with both outcomes.

Just let us know when you can Ken.

All those that ordered 445nm diodes pressed in will get them. I purchased a complete projector specifically for this purpose.

I just had a dream about this GB. I just happened to be in the area for some reason and all of us went over to Kenom's house to checkout the progress. They look sweet! Good job Kenom ;).
