The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

I wonder if you could use that sludge, dry it out and use the AL powder for fireworks? I don't know what mesh it would be at, but it might be a little extra fun, or way to recoup some of your funds you have had to pour into this.

@tysonc1979....
Thanks for the pictures there, I knew that I had seen someone mounting a C-mount in these, just couldn't find the pic.
I may or may not do this, seems like the host would work well for it though. Next step would be working out the corrective optics.;)

That setup was designed by Jayrob.

Whoooo. This creates an amazing amount of aluminum dust.

second run, started off with pristine water. Within 12 hours this is what I got.

This truly is amazing me how much time this is cutting off of the polishing. I was spending 24 hours on each batch with the cones. Now I've cut that down to 12 hours each and can do 2 batches each day. This doubles the amount I can polish in the cones.

Tyson, did you get your barrels? I distinctly remember sending them to you. If you would like the logos on them, I can give you an address to send the barrels to to have the logo put on them.

Too bad it just probably collapses into dust or melts back into the water. Otherwise I'd say you'd found a economical way to make "Foamed Aluminum" which would be really handy for the Aerospace industry. :)

Probably no good for pyro use either, as it's probably fairly well contaminated with rubbings from the plastic cones too.

532_with_Envy, Moebius, MeanGreen, Morgan and lazybeam, your barrels are being shipped to the engraver tomorrow to be engraved. From there it's shipping to you!

Good point, I kinda forgot those were plastic. I would be willing to try some of it dried out and compare it.

well, I'd be happy to pour some of this in another bucket and let it dry and see what kind of dust I've got left.

I do want to report that my earlier estimates of how long this was going to take were incredibly wrong. I had thought that I could do 2 runs of 3 barrels per day on the cones. That however is not the case. I am able to do 4 runs of 3 barrels per day and this means I'm able to polish not just 6, but 12 barrels PER DAY!!! I am kind of leary about using the water on the shells (it's got it's own polishing compound on it) and it might cause the shells to totally break down. so until I can test that, we are still on for the 1 barrel per day estimate for the shells.

Yeah i did get my barrels:drool: not sure if i want the logo but i might be sending them back to you so you can anodize them.

Awesome Ken, please remember to ship my entire order to Flaminpyro as we discussed.
He's doing some "special" modifications for me :eg:
I sent you his address via pm (in case you don't have it on hand).

-thanks!

Moebius, I was wondering if you could share what 'special' modifications Jeff is doing to your Krytons?

I dont want a logo. I need to get both of mine within the next 3-4 weeks. I have a guy who is beginning to think I stole his money. He bought one with me.

shouldn't be a problem.. The black ones are the ones I'll be anodizing first since there is a few of them.

Well one of the main "modifications" is trying to achieve the mirror finish I want.
If not, it's getting chrome plated.

Furthermore, Jeff has impressive custom focus ring skills.
If he can make one that fits, it will definetly look unique.
