The REAL Kryton GB round #3. Taking payments now.

They have to be anodized assembled so that there is no acid inside the barrel. The electrical path has to be maintained inside.

I just did a bunch of research today about polishing brass in a vibratory tumbler. A lot of guys are using ground corn husks mixed with lots of jewlers rouge or "nu-finish" car polish. Apparently you can get corn husks cheap as matting for bird cages or at feed shops.

It might be a way to get a mirror finish for bare polished hosts. Should tumble a lot easier than a crapload of bb's too!

Well Im just glad that the polished ones will be done soon. I canceled my anodized because I really dont feel like waiting any longer. Plus polished aluminum is pretty sexy by itself. Any longer and I would have demanded my money back so I could buy a custom designer vest.....but i like this turnout way better.

Anodizing makes them lots more scratch resistant though, and I'm not known for being super careful in terms of babying my gear, so I'm willing to wait.

Changed my order on the spreadsheet to "Bare Aluminum (No Anodize, No Polish)"

I'll be modifying mine a little bit so I'll just finish it myself later.

wow,.. over 1000 posts.

So if the vibratory polish method only gets decent results after 24 hours is it safe to assume that it is going to take more than 100 days to polish 100 barrels?

If that's the case, at least it will be summer by the time you anodize them unless you are anodizing individual barrels as they are polished.

Also, what about the barrels that are supposed to be matte/blasted as someone else asked (plain 'ol unpolished is fine by me for my black one).

any order that is matte will be chemical matted. Yes it would be safe to assume that it will take 100 days to polish all of them, however that doesn't mean that on day 2, it can't be anodized once it's setup.

So doing some math the complete groove laser would be 115+ shipping? or the deal still needs the driver?. Thanks in advance.

OK,... that's good to hear, I was assuming that you might not want to setup the baths for each individual barrel but rather group them together by anodization type. Thanks for the clarification and hope to see some barrels in enthusiasts hands in the near future!

Cheers!!

Hope someone can answers my question, if i wanted a working laser with this hose what else would i need? i mean the host the focusing rind and the pressed diode is for sell in here but other than that what would i need?

You would also need the driver and battery. If you wanted a better lens you'd want to get that as well.

Question Kenom.

Do you plan to do the simpler anodizing like black and clear first, then the colors and patterns, or does it not really make a difference?

Yes, the custom patterns like fade and marble are much harder to do and will take more time to do it, so I will be doing those after the solid colors.
