Survival laser kit help

I have been off line because I have TMJ and it hurts :cryyy:

All the diodes I sell are tested to 700ma because that is the current they run at in the projector.

This dose not mean they will operate at 1500ma and that is why I do not test them at that high
of current, if you take a 445 diode above 700ma then it is your responsibility if it dies as they were never designed to run this high.

It worked fine when it left here, what happened after it left here I have no control over and this is one reason why I do not guarantee them.

With that said I know we hobbyist do run them higher and you were expecting to run it higher and I do feel bad it died on you, but this is
only the 2nd diode in 2 years or 100's of diodes I have sold that has ever died on some one right off the bat, and the first one was definitely operator error, I believe !

I will help you out even though I offer no guarantee on laser diodes, I will sell you a new one at 1/2 price if you want it.

:yh:

@ Moh It's my understanding that most laser diodes are less than 1 to 1 in efficiency,
I don't know as I have not measured all of them
That would equate to 700ma input 700mW output would be 1 to 1 efficiency.

ok, so i PM'd flaminpyro about this thread and that i need a new diode.. The only thing is that he hasn't been online in three days..

greetings,,

Your a GOOD MAN Jeff.

+1 To you my Friend.

PM sent jeff! :D your a great guy +1 if i can give it again to you :p

Thanks for te help i will keep you guys updated on how this ended!

greetings,,

EDIT:

So Flaminpyro (Jeff) is going to send me a diode with the following specs he tested this evening i believe :) :

"790mW out @ 700ma in, now I tested it at 1000ma and the out put is 1327mW @ 6.20volts."

Can't wait to hook it up to the driver!

Why do you consider this a high voltage for 700ma ? I test 100's of these and that seems a normal voltage to me, I could quot you some statistics if you want...

What voltages have you gotten on the last 100ea 445 laser diodes you have tested ? what is the average voltage ?

Dose any one else have some figures they would like to share :)

I would say that you have a bad diode, especially with the higher than normal voltage that was observed at 700mA

I don't normally write it down but it usually runs 4.1 to 4.2 volts at that current IIRC.

Very nice, Jeff...good customer service. :) I hope you feel better soon.

I was testing M140 diodes this morning and this is what I observed.

Anyone else getting different readings at this current? It usually only varies a small amount from diode to diode for me.

Yes that is about right. I have only seen them vary at most about .2V's at any given current.;)

oke do i received a packag today from jeff

I got a led keychain for free with it which is a very nice surprise! Thanks jeff

I am going to install everything this afternoon! I have a soccer match to play right now :)

Here is is almost assembled:

It worked out awesome  , omg i a so addicted to blue beams

Here are some beamshots in comparison to the Rifle, the c6 has slightly better divergence ;) :

Here is a pic on one of those ancient lights i found in my garage :):
