Nah, he's not prejudiced. Right now in the world Muslim extremists are screwing with a lot of people. People are trying to forget that. Seeing pictures that, even if they are not meant to, portray Muslims with weapons makes people uneasy. It makes it so they cant forget. I dont pretend to understand where you are coming from. But I understand why people would be upset. Your photos only have meaning for yourself. How are we suppose to know they are members of the national armies? I dont see any army gear in any of your photos. There is not one thing that says they are NOT. Its really not a good time to be posting photos like that. How about posting pictures of recognized Muslim peace leaders? Wouldn't that be more appropriate to send the message that all Muslims are not terrorists? If you want to fly a flag, its has to be a recognized one, or people are just going to make assumptions. And considering what is going on in the world, you cant get mad because people are getting the wrong impression. Its your own fault.

That's precisely right. That's like those simply tasteless pictures that were found on here of some young, female suicide bomber's head lying in the street after she had killed herself and others.. along with text and commentary glorifying her actions. Muslims can't get mad when the world gets upset with the despicable actions of their extremist members. If Muslims want the world to respect and appreciate them, then not killing people would be a real great place to start, and not posting offensive imagery with gun-toting muslim Jihadi might not hurt either. As T_J said, how about posting pics in support of peace, or in support of ending religious violence? It seems like the common muslim is always so quick to point out the fact that they themselves are non-violent. I don't ever hear them condemning the violence commited by the extrmists, though..

The *only* context is that the women is wearing a burqa (or is this called hijab? I'm sorry if I'm incorrect in my nomenclature).

Since the *only* context is that the women is wearing a burqa (again, apologies if this is the wrong name), it is clear that that particular type of clothing indicates "terrorist" to at least some people on this thread. That is an assumption that is incorrect and definitely offensive, more offensive than the picture itself as it is an assumption that a particular religion = terrorism, when that is definitely not the case.

Now, was that a baited assumption? Quite possibly, but I have no clue of the real intentions of such a photo.

TBH, I find this slightly prejudiced. If this had been a picture of a Canadian, or American solider, or even an average Joe with a weapon this would not have been an issue, but since it's a Muslim, it's automatically assumed "terrorist". The individuals in my avatar pictures are members of the national armies of Muslim countries or in some cases local police forces and have absolutely nothing to do with terrorism. I choose these pictures because they mean something to me, just as others have pictures of flags or soldiers, so please, try to be a bit more careful about categorizing Muslims as terrorists.

That may very well be the uniform of the militia. They may very well be wearing a full uniform underneath the hijab/burqa/I-don't-know-what-it's-really-called. It's only our own biases that say what a military uniform looks like. He already said his avatars are different forms of police and military, and it makes sense that in those jobs as well, it would still be typical for women to wear the modest clothing.

Speaking only for myself, I always find it slightly weird whenever I hear things like "All muslims aren't terrorists".. Of course technically this is true, but until I see a whole bunch more of them standing up for PEACE instead of SENSELESS BLOODSHED I'm not necessarily buying the idea that they're a peace-loving culture seeking to live in harmony with the people of earth in general.. It doesn't matter if you build the bombs or not, if you don't take a stand against violence, then you support it by default.

I was not the one who posted those photos, nor did I even comment on the particular picture you referred too. They were posted by another member and I responded to some of them with images and text, which I was very careful to word so that it did not promote their actions, but merely to express my sadness at the situation in general.

Sometimes they are seen with helmets and insignia, but as with all armies, every single piece of the uniform is not always warn during every second of training.

EDIT: Yeah, what she is wearing is called a chador, had to look this up as I was unsure as what this was called in English, but it appears all the words are universal.
