Sale thread/ Hosts/Heat Sinks/Focus adapters/lasers

Hi BM,
Thank you i figure i would do a side button pen , came out great with the brass button and focus adapter. might make an adapter for it . I have a small 8X BE from Mells Groit see how that works for it.

Rich:)

Rich..... oh, man..... I’m seeing and reading some really cool stuff   that little pen looks badass!! What size momentary switch is in the pen? I don’t really need to say it. But,
Beautiful work as always :)

If you can Rich post a picture of the pen with the 8x attached I'd love to check it out? :thanks:

Hi BM,
Ok the BE is a mini and really neat ..

@ Shotgun,
I am using a button on a pub board with a spring wired to the X Drive. Thank you for checking it out.

Ok machined an adapter for the 8X Mells Griot BE Makes the dot perfectly round and is focusable at a given distance,

Rich:)

That is really a nice loooking addition Rich! Well well done. Looks like it belongs there.

Hi Alaskan,
Yes it is i was surprised by the size but wondering how it would perform , all i can say is its a go. Enjoy ..

@ BM, thank you buddy i thought it was the right size for this build, The only thing is the nylon tipped set screws they are 1/8 . Its tough to find them in 1/16 but ill keep looking. I wanted to keep the adapter profile to a minimum. Thanks pal.

Rich:)

I have never seen that little beam expander. It goes so wonderfully with that pen. I would probably be interested in some sort of collar similar to that for some of the beam expander options out there. I wonder if anyone else might like some attachments like this?

Remind me, is the NDG7875 a multimode diode? I wonder because the rectangular beam of multimodes has made it hard to get efficient expansion for me in the past. To get the full 8X output, you would need a beam less than 1mm in size as input with a 7mm apeture. In the meantime, I'll keep playing with cardboard tubes to hold lenses for expanders :D

Hi E,
The NDB7875 isn't to bad of a beam divergence , but with this BE it makes a perfect round dot. The adapter i made will hold the BE rigid for one hand operation. Other adapters you need to hold the G2 at a focus point and then focus the BE or Vice,Versa. My adapter is set to the host with the lens of your choice already focused . On and just focus the BE. I make the for other flash light hosts or even customs to. They work very well ...
Thank You for your interest pal.

Rich:)

That has got to be the smallest BE I've seen. Barely over two inches long and less than 0.6 inches outside diameter. The output aperture is only 7 mm.

Hi Paul,
I was impressed with the minuscule size and at 8X, I figured hey lets give it a shot . 8X in such a small footprint.. And it s not bad at all.. Thank You for your interest pal.

Rich:)

It is very tiny, Rich. You need a beam no larger than 1.5 mm in diameter to use it, but these diodes are capable of that at the input of the BE. Great little combo. + rep

Hi Paul,
Thank You much i was pleased with the results from this small BE not to bad at all. This might do a Red some justice with a 3E..
Her i just built a Chinese 532 module i bought from a member and put it in a small host . The sink is the length of the module and driver. I turned down the threads on the module and pressed a M9x0.5mm lens barrel onto it to take a focus adapter with no lens inside . Chinese 532 American style.. 56mW's of lime green... Gifted to a member not available :san:

Rich:)

I love the host for your 532nm build. It's a shame you couldn't come up with a higher power module. I still have a couple of 532nm modules that will do up to 200 mW each depending on the luck of the draw. I bought 6 of them 4 years ago and have had great luck with all of them. I paid $30.00 each for a package deal of six of them. They just sit in my stock now as I am into building other wavelengths now and don't have use for another ~200 mW 532nm build. I sold one to GSS awhile ago for my cost. They have a very visible beam in a well lit room.
