Yeah, that's definitely a great way to go. Do you thread the two to make contact between them better? Good thermal contact is very important.

Hi,
I machine the core to a tight tolerance then i apply Arctic Silver and mix in 99% copper dust then press the core in with a 1/2 ton press. This works awesome with heat transfer , mechanically bonded .

Sounds good. I remember sinner used to thread his on the Cyprus to get good thermal conduction, but your way sounds good too.

Hi,
The threaded sink is a great plus but also adds labor , threading has to be on spot. Sinner hosts were CNC machined no doubt but priceless . Have quite a few of them and also Ed Crouse 's designs to. Cant forget Harold Eugemus ..

Hi,
Here is a AL and Brass host takes 1X14500 cel, G2 lens ,Nano set to 275mA. 505nm diode .. Paul specto'ed these from the very first batch that came in. 505nm and 480nm diodes.

Very nice, Rich. I've now seen so many of these diodes I have to look to see where they tend to be in WL and also the pin out as there are now so many different "505nm" diodes.

The pin out is a normal top+.left case, bottom-. These are from the same batch i gave you to specto.

I know, Rich. My problem is I've seen many of these packages full of blue and green diodes to test and after awhile, it's difficult to remember which was which.

That's great, Rich. As far as I know, they are getting scarce now. I have a "495nm" coming to test that I am pretty excited about. I sure hope it is over 490nm. If so, I will pick one up for myself and give the link to the forum.
