It seems like duration means the world to you. I worked my butt off in time and money for experiment builds and research into my offerings. I can be here for years and build a laser once a month and that would look "experienced" to you.

I went overdrive for 3 weeks, yes. If you knew how hard i worked to prep for this, you wouldn't be saying all of this. It is evident enough as it is, how I set up my shop, did not occur overnight.

No one will get ripped off. They will get much better, more powerful, and better priced lasers than the majority of the market. Plus, each customer can fit their own needs with their own choice of build options :) I am not Wicked Lasers and will never be. Like I said, I work with each customer to give them the best build for their budget. This is not just a store, it's a unique service.

Fair enough Ryan, I do not know how hard you have worked to set this up and I do not know your level of experience with building lasers, you could have built 10 in that 3 week window for all I know. My apologies. However, my other points still stand.

@gif I would appreciate it if you would refrain from personal attacks. This is serious discussion and calling other people 12 year olds because you do not agree with their opinion is indicative of you not being able to support your argument and have to resort to insults to back up your points.

Again, sorry for the mis-understanding of your experience Ryan. I wish you luck with your shop...

I'm impressed at your growth in that amount of time. I remember the PMs you sent me regarding your first build for tips and such.

I think your validity would be helped if you post an in depth thread of one of your builds so we can see what the quality truly is and what you put into your builds that makes it a "RyanElectro" build.

I know it may be out of place for me to talk about your shop's MO, but here's me $0.02...

... I'm only satisfied by my own builds. I love knowing exactly what went into the assembly, where the heatsink comes from, the wait for the parts, and knowing all the specs of it. I.e mA, diode, run-times, etc. Sometimes I enjoy failure because it's all part of the process of building. And that "process" is what I love about building lasers! Therefore you probably won't find business from me. But that's not a reflection on you, it's a reflection on me and people like me.

I can see how a member who knows how easy it can be to build a laser would scoff at your pricing, but I think that if someone wants a laser and cannot build it and is relatively close to your location would find it worthwhile.

Sometimes we all forget, or are afraid to admit, we have been in the "attempting" category. Who wouldn't? It'd be the coolest thing to say you jumped into lasers with success from the get-go! However most of us, save a few savants, have had difficulty with builds. And I think a pre-made laser where someone can pay extra to remove the risk of constantly breaking parts and for labor can be worth the money.

Ok now that makes a big difference.

HeY Ryan would you mind posting some pics of your build and soldering skills. Maybe a close up pic of a fully assembled diode and driver. Maybe some internals from a laser that you consider ready to ship?? If your build skills match your ''I'm a pro'' atitude then you may lose some of the heat your getting

You should probably think about not using images from other member's websites. Or at least ask permission first. ;)

i guess everyone will just see how this goes...

but explain how you are cheaper than 95%

if feel a statistic pulled out of the anal region in that statement. but all of the points i agree with have already been posted...

you cannot compare yourself to companies such as optronics or cni etc

you can compare yourself to people like RHD

but then we seem to realize that your builds are not unique RHDs builds are hosts that he finds has heatsinks made for and most of the time builds the driver.

like wolfman said if you want a kit put together PM any nice guy on the forum that knows how to solder and they may do it for the price of parts.

just because you make a laser cheaper than wicked doesnt mean it is a fair price.

my 2cents

good luck with your shop and dont dismiss all of these guys advice

Yes you nailed it.. my build service is geared towards those who don't feel comfortable building their own and want a fully assembled laser of good quality @ affordable prices. For now I'm not planning on any special "RyanElectro" builds and will focus on these 4 builds. But I had some of those "special" builds in mind for quite some time now, will have to wait till I have more capital though.

Yes I will definitely post pictures of my builds when I receive the parts for my latest orders. I've gotten quite good at soldering after building several for my friends and more online.

which is a perfectly fine service and i am glad that you offer safety glasses :gj: on that

looks like your prices are not listed so i am just going off of what other people posted they may be fair if you have modified them?

OH please listen to rploato suggestion i promise a few god pics of your soldering skills will ease the minds of a ton of vets

many of our scammers have had terrible soldering skills cough cough bhwollen

haha trust me, I've gotten a lot better. I'm the one who posted the awesome Soldering 101 Tutorial video here in LPF ;) which I've referred to countless times during my soldering.

I've just a very careful, meticulous builder. I check and recheck everything before moving on to the next step so it takes me a while but I do a great job.

Also regarding my prices, I've decided like I said to fit my prices for my customer's budget and work with each customer individually, as I stated since page 1 :D

im not accusing you of anything. but pictures will help clear this out. we had a trusted builder here by the name of ben his tale is a long and action flame war packed one. but for now i will give you a slight overview. everyone thought he was alright he sold a bunch of lasers one of them sucked he refused to fix it so the dude sent it to another member. the soldering was atrocious he didnt connect anything right and he thought he was too good for heatshrink. he is now banned :p

Good luck Ryan. You have certainly jumped in with both feet with this thread! :p

It should be interesting to see how well this works out for you. New sellers will always have a steep uphill battle here. It's one of my biggest pet peeves that as a group we tend to tear apart new sellers attempts here.

I'm going to stick my nose into this a little bit. You are doing the right thing with the safety glasses. That says that you take vision safety seriously but then you describe one of your lasers like this:

Description: Impress your friends and light your cigarettes (or bowls) the classy way, using this high-powered Pocket Burner! It also makes for a compact camping tool for starting fires. Or prank your friend at his birthday party and pop all his balloons without anyone knowing what the hell is going on

This just seems unsafe even with goggles on. I actually surprised no one else pointed it out.
