See what I did there? Haha, I cracks myself up. But seriously, I have heard of them, and I'll stop facepalming as soon as you explain how you extract useful energy from such a thing, in spite of such a thing violating the most basic physical law in existence and in essence negating everything we have ever known about physics.

ETA: Let me clarify things, just to make sure we're on the same page: you're saying that you believe you can run a car solely on the splitting of water through electrolysis, and burning that fuel in the engine? With no other energy input, only with the alternator of the car itself? Running the car from this process only, with no other energy inputs? Is that really what you're saying?

the navy has plans to run jets with seawater. more or less. in detail, they kinda want to reverse the fuel-burning-process, like doing photosynthesis. they want to split water, magically combine the hydrogen with carbon from CO2 to form some sort of hydrogencarbonate. obviously, that process is enormous energyconsuming to begin with..

but then, if someone ever finds a catalysator to reduce the energy needed in any of those steps.. that could produce some changes in earth.. :-)
as a child i phantasized about a catalysator which splits water right by itself.. ;-)

sorry to add the the oil spill here niko.

but lets make it clear that i hate the term "clean coal technology".... coal will always be dirty coal. "clean coal" is a gimmic to revitalize an industry. yes, the filtering methods of cleaning up burnt coal are getting better. but coal will always be dirty burning.

Well guys, I added my comments to the original thread about this over on LEF, and saw testing going on but it never seemed to go anywhere. I offered to be a tester, but was turned down probably to my initial doubting reaction. At the frequencies he was talking about in the initial thread - 100-150kHz this is an absolute no-go and I think it will actually shorten diode life but at 10-25MHz there's a possibility that it may do as well as a CW driven laser :) The results are certainly subjective. Per the patent, I would be very surprised if you were granted a patent on this, diodes have been pulsed for AGES in fact I have done this very thing in my lab two years ago, didn't like the results, and can prove it. However if you can patent free water energy (hey isn't that against the free energy ideals!) then I guess you can patent anything now-days.

EDIT: the following sentence was based on a misinterpretation of a post. It has been brought to my attention that he knew how to construct circuits without help. Apologies to Frosty for this./EDIT

Another thing that made me doubt this was the need for him apparently to ask his science professor about how to make a circuit, and the resulting use of a 555 chopping power to a LM317. Well I haven't tried it but one look at the 317 datasheet shows it can't be toggled that fast. Perhaps Frosty has a better design now.

At any rate, the door is still open for me to test and if I see a difference at the same average current I'll be sure to report but until it's proven, buyer beware of the hype.
