We had quite a storm here today, nearly 50cm (20") of snow here in Ottawa.

A look at the space temple during the storm:

The large flock of snow ducks didn't not seem to give a crap about the bad weather though:

A powerful green laser shooting through snow is the most awesome thing I've seen yet.

It's just 200mw, a real 200mw that I paid 100 and change for the module, but still, what you pay to get a half watt or a watt of HH green is not in my opinion worth the difference, not when they are so fragile, and the difference is so subjective.
If all you have is a 5mw when until then it's been 5mw reds you think WOW that's amazing. 50mw of 532 is fun until you set 200 next to it.
Actually for covert fun I like a high quality infinity focus 532 in a medium heat sink.

I do like beam quality and on a foggy/rainy/snowy night even a 50-200mw green regains forgotten magic.

I may try correcting a MM 1w 520 or just wait for them to catch up to the stage lighting market, I already see them replacing a lot of what's for sale.
I am looking hard at that single mode direct NDG4216

Just look at this 500-700mw dpss 532, it sucks down almost 10 watts, that's 9 watts of waste heat for .5 - .7 of light, a 7w NUBM44 at 19watts in puts 7watts out and that's overdriven and at less than the factory efficiency ratio, yes the green directs are not as efficient as the blues that can pump phosphor at a high efficiency....that's why we still have the blues.....for now ;) The substrate is so efficient it's in our new streetlights, houselights, auto lights but people are making noise about blue light pollution so the phosphor may be shifted towards 2700k rather than 6500k and possible at some cost to efficiency.

My Walmart bulbs are 2700k

See ya ... hello again.
Spotted a beauty in a tree. Just as I went to take a picture it flew off. Did about a 300 yard circle to check out a field and then came back to the same exact perch.

They sure are majestic. Do you know what kind that one is?

I am not sure but Redtail hawks are very common in this area.
